Papa to Kiss in the Dark
WELL...I guess I liked it a lot (I should have realized it after my OVA reaction post as well as the post going off about the novels). For those who will download and watch the raw of Papa to Kiss in the Dark (torrent here) and can't understand Japanese, I have a wonderful present for you. I wasted several hours of my life doing a summary of this OVA. I hope it's useful to someone...
At the Munakata household, Mira is rushing to get ready because he fears he'll be late for his first day of high school. He barges in to see his father Kyousuke still sleeping, just as he thought. Despite the fact that he had promised to be up for Mira's first day. Kyousuke wakes up and asks, "Who's the bad boy who's disturbing my sleep?" Mira replies that there's no one else but him, and shakes him. Kyouskuke grabs Mira and pulls him onto his lap. Kyouskue tells him to come to bed too and go back to sleep together. Mira's like you've got to be kidding and tells him to stop sleeping naked. Kyousuke smiles and says he's certainly wearing...his cologne. With a "Morning, my cute Mira." Kyousuke pushes Mira down onto the bed as Mira objects saying they're father and son.
Mira is running to school, knowing he's late. The front gate is closed, and he runs around the perimeter looking for a way to get in. He blames Kyousuke for making him late to the first day of the school he worked so hard to get in. He calls Kyousuke a perverted acting star, remembering the types of movies he's been in (with Mira inserted into the images XDXD). Mira is so happy to find an entrance, and sees a car that looks like Kyousuke's car. But he figures Kyousuke is still sleeping. BUT...he keeps running around looking for an open door. He doesn't know where the first year's building was. Then the door he's leaning on opens, and a third year asks what he's doing there. Mira puts on an act claiming he was lost and forgot what class he was in (acting like he wasn't actually LATE). The third year looks up his class information for him. He's blushes at the third year's reaction to finding out his first name--he's incredibly pleased that this nice guy is tall, good looking, AND doesn't make a funny face at his name...and then he notices the BIG WHITE ARMBAND on the guy's arm and realizes he's the student council president. The guy introduces himself as Utsunomiya Takayuki, and tells him his class. He gives Mira directions to his class and assures him that the teachers are still in the teacher's lounge now. He tells him that student life is looking good thanks to him (what does that mean? XD) and winks.
Mira runs into his class, panting but happy that he's beat the teacher there. He meets his childhood friend Hinoki Kazuki--Kazu for short. He's saved Mira a seat (don't they usually get assigned seating?). Mira wonders how Kazu knew they were in the same class, and Kazu explains that of course he checked where Mira was on the class assignment roster. Mira smiles, since that's so typical Kazu. Kazu suddenly gets all serious and asks where Mira was during the ceremony. Mira kind of brushes off the question, and Kazu says it's suspicious and pokes Mira in the head (OMG that's so cute!). Close-up on Kazu's face: "I was worried, you know." Kazukisses draws close to Mira and asks what had happened. He asks if Mira had a fight with his dad, and Mira of course remembers what really happens. Cue blushy uke! reaction.
They are interrupted by someone strumming a guitar (WHY is a guy carrying around a guitar on the first day of school?). Kazu recognizes that it's Shun, Mira and his childhood friend.The one that moved away at some point. Shun had debuted recently. Mira comments that Shun's childhood dream had come true. Flashback to the three on a jungle gym.
ChibiShun: I'm gonna be a musician when I grow up!
ChibiKazu: I'm gonna be a soccer player!
ChibiMira: I...um...um...
YounglookingKyousuke: Mira!
ChibiMira: Papa! I'm going to be Papa's bride!

Kazu mentions that he's on the soccer team, and that Mira's lovey-dovey with his Papa even now. A huge DANGER sign falls, and Mira wonders if Kazu knows. One part of him thinks that's not possible, but Mira remembers all the things he used to do with Kyousuke that he apparently told his friends about, not having known they weren't things a father and son did together.
Shun's called out of class, just in time to see Kyousuke surrounded by some fans. He's shown up at Mira's class. Mira realizes it was Kyousuke's car earlier, and he's upset that Kyousuke had driven there while Mira had been running frantically to get to school. Kazu is impressed by Kyousuke's ability to make women go nuts over him. He comments that even though his own mother knows Kyousuke, she's still totally effected. Kyousuke is 29, but Mira doesn't think that's possible since he's 15 and normally you don't become a dad at 14. Mira murmurs that he doesn't like him...
Back at home, Mira mutters that he doesn't like Kyousuke. Kyousuke asks who doesn't like him? Kyousuke does the seme!smoking thing, and then decides that they should continue what they were doing in the morning since Kyousuke was off that day. Kyousuke pushes Mira down on the sofa, and comments that he's only had milk since morning, and was hungry (it's so...disturbing that he's calling himself "Papa" in this circumstance ^_^;). Mira wonders what he means about "milk," then tires to get up saying we should go get some food. Kyousuke is like, NO, and they have a little struggle, upon which Kyousuke displays his great seme!powers and manages to unclothe Mira in record time without ripping the clothing. Kyousuke tells him he wants to eat at home, and says, "look, my favorite is right here." (XD;;;)
Kyousuke answers his cell phone, saying he'll be able to meet someone soon. He continues fucking Mira as he talks on the phone. Mira thinks Kyousuke is making plans for a date with someone, gets up and licks and bites Kyousuke's ear. Cut to cute reaction of satisfaction at Kyousuke's response. Cats are too cute. Kyousuke hangs up and says he's going to take a shower before going out. For some reason Mira has a very frightened reaction as Kyousuke tells him he'll have to punish Mira. He'll make Mira fully understand how adults do things. Mira objects a high school student is not an adult yet as he's pushed down onto the sofa (again). (What's the significance of the flower falling down? Deflowering? But it's not like it's his first time...)
The next morning Kazu is shocked at Mira's condition. Flashback to Kyousuke going out, leaving a dead Mira to watch the house like a good boy. Mira wonders who Kyousuke was meeting up for some social gathering. He's in full jealous mode, thinking Kyousuke is going for some "sex surfing" (I think that's what he says). Mira runs into the tree, and then gets all worked up, saying he's going to start anew. They are interrupted by laughing. Utsunomiya greets Mira, "Morning, lost little kitten." Mira greets him back, while Kazu is...unhappy by the two's interaction. He's really unhappy when Utsunomiya comments that Mira is really cute (as he removes a sakura petals from Mira's hair...that's not erotic at all. No, not AT ALL XD). Kazu warns Mira to be careful, but MIra is thinking that Kyousuke is cheating on him even now.
Cut to a celebrity, Utsunomiya Mizuki, being asked by a mob of reporters about her engagement to Munakata Kyousuke. They also ask what her son thinks about the actor. Does this mean anything at all??? XDXD
At home, Mira is cooking dinner, looking forward to seeing Kyousuke who was coming home early. in the meantime, Kyousuke and Mizuki meeting up (in the studio?). The actress asks if Mira is doing well, noting that he's a high school student now. Shun sees the encounter, where Mizuki leaves after saying we can take it easy later on...
Mira is grousing because Kyousuke isn't calling him even though he's late. He wonders if he's cheating with someone, but he doesn't want to call Kyousuke, because his jealousy would be so obvious. He asks, why is a guy like that my dad? Why is he my lover? *sobs* (THE ANGST!)
Kyousuke comes home to a darkened mansion. He wonders if Mira is already sleeping, but finds him asleep in the kitchen. Mira throws himself at Kyousuke and sobs that he's going to leave, like he did once a long time ago. Kyousuke holds him tightly and says that there's only Mira for him. In bed, Kyousuke tells Mira he's precious and irreplaceable to him.
The next day, Mira realizes he forgot to give the paper asking for an official copy of his family registration. It was due that week. Shun is off to the studio, while Mira drags Kazu off.
Mira bitches that he had to waste 300 yen for a stamp to get the copy. Kazu comments that there have been movies and manga with hidden family origins. Mira notes that Kyousuke has been in one. Kazu knows it, and they talk about the plot. Kyousuke was the older brother of the main character, and they end up falling in love. But they turn out not to be related by blood. Mira thinks how that kind of situation is impossible. Kazu supposes what it'd be like if Mira wasn't Kyousuke's real son, and they fell in love...which causes Mira to freeze up. He dismisses the possibility as beyond a joke.
Mira, looking at the registry, is shocked. It can't be true! Mira's not Kyousuke's real son! THE TRAGEDY! Don't look up at Kazu like that...how will he fight off the urge to ravish him right then and there?? XDXD
And the angsty yet funny preview:
Mira: I'm...not Kyousuke's son. Then what are we? And he's getting married to that person? What? Kyousuke was in an accident!? KYOUSUKE!!!!
Kyousuke: What an extreme reaction. Did you feel it that much? (sexual connotations fully meant, probably XD)
I also learned that OVA 2 comes out in Japan on 12/21. I can't believe I'm looking forward to seeing that, too. *sighs*
