Pafu 2005 Fan Rankings

I picked up my Pafu today, and was again surprised by the annual fan ranking poll. It's always in the April issue and I never remember. :P In any case, I like looking at the list because the magazine caters to the yaoi fangirl and it's interesting to see what they say (breakdown of respondents is 92% female, 8% male). I only listed those that warranted a picture and/or extra comments for each category.

Serial Manga

1. Kyou kara ma no tsuku jiyuugyou!
2. BLEACH
3. Kusari no renkinjutsushi (Full Metal Alchemist)
4. Fruits Basket

10. Gintama
11. Skip Beat!
12. xxxHOLIC

15. Tsubasa -RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE-
16. NARUTO
17. Hachimitsu to Clover
18. Ouran koukou host club
19. LOVELESS
20. SiLVER DIAMOND

I am not surprised by most of the top twenty, but there were a couple that made me look twice. I didn't realize Junjou Romantica was so popular. I remember reading the scanlation for the first volume and not being that inclined to read the rest. Now I'm curious to see if it gets any better. I'm very happy to see D.Gray-man, xxxHOLIC and SILVER DIAMOND up there. XD I've never head of Ookiku fuikabutte and Skip Beat! I'm curious about the former, as it looks to be a sports manga with decent art.

Ooh, thanks for this post.

I must read Honey and Clover... Have you? What do you think about it?

You're welcome!

I haven't read Honey and Clover, but I've really only heard good things about it.

At first the art style turned me off, but with all of this reccing, I now want to see what the fuss is about.

Interesting! ^__^ It's so good to know most of my favourites are listed in the top 20. :) I'm also surprised Junjou Romantica ranked in the top 10 and even Usami made it in the male ranking. *laughs* I find that quite amusing. *__*

And great to know SD is finally getting the attention. :))))

Have you been following Junjou Romantica? You don't think it's that great?

I am very very happy to see Silver Diamond up there. I hope we get drama CDs! XD

I'm a secret fan of JR. ^______^

I've been following the scanlation, but now it's licensed I'm planning to get the English version. :) The drawings did put me off the first time, but it's the story that drove me into the series. I think you'll like it. I used to prefer reading about Hiro-san and Nowaki rather than Usami sensei, but now the story is getting interesting with him and Misaki as well. ^__^

Not sure if you've listened to the drama CDs, but I do adore Nowaki's voice cast by Kanna Nobutoshi. Ah...and Misaki is cast by Sakurai Takahiro, the same seiyuu who did Yuri in KKM. :)))

If you need the drama cds or scans, just give me a yell.

I'd love to get the scans and the drama CDs! I want give it another chance and find out why it's so popular! So there are two main couples in the series?

I don't listen to drama CDs of things I haven't read before. I know you can get a pretty complete picture from just the drama CD, but I just don't go for them. :P

Junjou Romantica is the best. <3 I'm surprised it beat Prince of Tennis, D-Gray Man and Death Note though. :D

So much Conrad love! Yay. :D

Ah...I guess I should hunt Junjou Romantica down and give it a second chance. Damn, I should have kept up with it so that I could collect it as it came out...Oh well.

I love that the Japanese love Conrad so much. Doujinshi heaven! XD
