insanenekoWell, RL last week was pretty insane for me, and I tend to engage in insane activities to compensate. I finally gave in and listened to the Papa to Kiss in the Dark drama CD because I was rewatching the crack that is the anime and got curious. I'm so glad I did because the sex is so cheesy that it's a lot of fun to listen to. Miki is just...too perfect. I can't imagine how he could keep his voice serious as he voiced some of the most awfully cheesy lines ever (and I mean ever) by a seme. It's even funnier contrasted with the angsting and resisting (in that pathetic uke way) Midorikawa. XDXD I loved it all so much, that I started translating the drama...the sex scenes only, basically. I am far too lazy to bother with the whole thing, when a good deal of the storyline overlaps with the anime. It was the sex that had been cut short, and a pity that it had been. In any case, I highly recommend the drama CD. I'll provide the CD via YSI:

He goes to his class and meets up with his childhood friend Kazu. When he comments that they've been in the same class since grade school, Kazu replies that it's the power of love. Mira tells him not to say things like that in public because it might be misunderstood and weird rumors could be started about them. Kazu replies that he's always saying that he's not joking. Mira (the clueless one) tells him that because he says stuff like that he hasn't gotten a girlfriend yet. Kazu was the captain of the soccer team in junior high and was quite attractive even from his eyes, but has never been connected with a girl. Mira dismisses Kazu's intentions, but figures he's much better than the perverted old man Kyousuke and jokes that he'll switch to Kazu. It continues much like the anime with the mothers going nuts over Kyousuke....Kazu's rather impressed while Mira is completely disgusted that Kyousuke is basically pheromone incarnate, threatening to never have sex with him again.
Track 4:

The rest of this track is very similar to the anime scene with Kyousuke coming home late and them ending up in bed.

Mira realizes the next morning that he's just plain in love with Kyousuke (like in the anime). Kyousuke is hurt on shoot and Mira rushes to the hospital for his great dramatic moment, yada yada yada. It more or less follows the anime and has no cheesy sex scenes ,so I'm not bothering with this track either.
Track 6:
Mira: Kyousuke came home after a week in the hospital. And when they find out that Kyousuke had protected Utsunomiya Mizuki, the talk shows were clamoring every day that the two, about whom there had been rumors before, were going to get married.
Mira: No...
Kyousuke: What don't you like? Oh...are you maybe worried about the rumor?
Mira: Well, yeah...
Kyousuke: It's a lie...Short pants and an apron is cute, too.
Mira: Idiot, you're injured, you should be resting

This last track more or less follows the last scene of the anime where Kyousuke catches up with Mira and they have their beautiful love scene, except with some extra bitching from Kyousuke (My life's been turned upside down because you're so damn cute you just shredded my male instincts). The final kiss is so carefully narrated by Mira:
Mira: Can I be with you for the rest of my life, Kyousuke?
Kyousuke: Of course, you have to pay me back.
Mira (narrating): As the lips that were best in the world at kissing slowly descended...
Mira: I love you, Papa. Love me forever, okay?
Kyousuke: Of course, I'll do it right now.
Mira (narrating): Closing my eyes at the enchanting murmur (of his voice), I solemnly waited for Kyousuke's sweet kiss to fall on me...
I can not stress just how cracktastic and silly it is. It's so bad it's good. It brought me great joy and laughter during a very stressful time. Also, MIKI IS GOD. Ijou.

Mira (the clueless one) tells him that because he says stuff like that he hasn't gotten a girlfriend yet. Kazu was the captain of the soccer team in junior high and was quite attractive even from his eyes, but has never been connected with a girl. Mira dismisses Kazu's intentions, but figures he's much better than the perverted old man Kyousuke and jokes that he'll switch to Kazu. It continues much like the anime with the mothers going nuts over Kyousuke....Kazu's rather impressed while Mira is completely disgusted that Kyousuke is basically pheromone incarnate, threatening to never have sex with him again.

Mira realizes the next morning that he's just plain in love with Kyousuke (like in the anime). Kyousuke is hurt on shoot and Mira rushes to the hospital for his great dramatic moment, yada yada yada. It more or less follows the anime and has no cheesy sex scenes ,so I'm not bothering with this track either.
Track 6:
Mira: Kyousuke came home after a week in the hospital. And when they find out that Kyousuke had protected Utsunomiya Mizuki, the talk shows were clamoring every day that the two, about whom there had been rumors before, were going to get married.

Kyousuke: What don't you like? Oh...are you maybe worried about the rumor?
Mira: Well, yeah...

This last track more or less follows the last scene of the anime where Kyousuke catches up with Mira and they have their beautiful love scene, except with some extra bitching from Kyousuke (My life's been turned upside down because you're so damn cute you just shredded my male instincts). The final kiss is so carefully narrated by Mira:
Mira: Can I be with you for the rest of my life, Kyousuke?
Kyousuke: Of course, you have to pay me back.
Mira (narrating): As the lips that were best in the world at kissing slowly descended...
Mira: I love you, Papa. Love me forever, okay?
Kyousuke: Of course, I'll do it right now.
Mira (narrating): Closing my eyes at the enchanting murmur (of his voice), I solemnly waited for Kyousuke's sweet kiss to fall on me...
I can not stress just how cracktastic and silly it is. It's so bad it's good. It brought me great joy and laughter during a very stressful time. Also, MIKI IS GOD. Ijou.
