(no subject)

I felt like writing about a lot of really pointless things today.

( My random musings and commentary on manga, FMA fanfic, not having enough money, fanart links, and hair color... )

Sad...

Okay, this is the story of my disappointing journey today. I bought this month's copy of Puff today, and one of the things I check is the manga review section. Well, one manga caught my eye:




The guy's expression is just great! And the art looks nice, and the review was enthusiastic, so I was interested. The seme, the guy with the LOOK on the review pic, is supposed to be one of those twisted individuals...So I did my usual song and dance to look up the manga, Recipe by Shimizu Yuki, at amazon japan when I'm at work and can't directly input Japanese. Found it, and realized that this artist did Love Mode! While Love Mode admittedly was not one my favorite series, it was mostly fun and the characters were fairly fleshed out. I also found out that Hurrah for Tarts! scanlated it, but I couldn't download it at work (I never download manga at work in general, and NEVER something that is explicit like this one) so instead I did other related searches (I searched and found out that Love Mode is being scanlated by Sakura Crisis--I'm sure they are doing an awesome job) to pass the time. I got home and downloaded it immediately--to find out it didn't really interest me. >< The art is nice, but...

(A bit of a synopsis and review here if anyone is curious)

I'm really disappointed. I guess I had high expectations and they were dashed. *sigh* Though as a last ditch effort I think I will mention this manga to my friend who really likes Love Mode (she bought extra copies of several volumes by accident and gave them to me--now I have vol 1 and 8-10...)--I figure she'll buy it. Then I'll read it in Japanese in book form which is so much easier than clicking for each new page (yeah I'm lazy) and maybe I'll like it then?...

In any case, when scanning in that pic that enticed me into my stupid search, I decided to scan in a very pretty pic of Loveless by Kouga Yun who is interviewed in this issue (Loveless is being scanlated by Image Garden. I only have volume 1, but I do own other works by her...she really is into wierd stories that don't really make sense, isn't she? Especially Rorakaizaa which is really whacked out--go here for some idea on the story). In any case, this pic is pretty and makes me feel better looking at it. Even if I have no photoshop skills and can't fix certain problems with it...
