Heh, I am on a high right now. I got my amazon japan box yesterday. Manga! Books! CD! I like the nice pile it made on the floor (of course, some of it wasn't mine, but it was still nice to look at). I quickly looked through the manga but I dove straight into the Fujimi Symphony books. I managed to finish the first one by going to sleep far too late. The last several books didn't suck me in like some of the others, but this one brought back everything I love about this series. I think it's because Yuki (the main chara, the violinist) played in a concert. He was soloist for a performance of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, and the thrill he feels playing was powerfully conveyed. The author went into detail about the various parts of the piece, so this morning I listened to a recording of the concerto by the great violinist Jascha Heifetz and I felt the exhilaration all over again. I started the second book I got, but am hampered by annoying things like work, and commuting....

It's been a while since a novel has swept me up into it's world and not let me go. What a wonderful feeling. ^_^

And when I'm done with Fujimi I'll still have manga waiting for me, and KKM and other anime...

I just realized that I didn't order all of the available Fujimi books, and had in fact skipped one...which means I can't read the last one I bought. >_< I am a total and utter idiot. Though I did find a really comprehensive fan site, Lunar Orbiter, that lists all of her works, including her many novels, comics, drama CDs, and other things, so I can make sure I bought all of the books in the series. *sigh* Unfortunately this series is not numbered and I always had to rely on the publication date to figure out what the order was--and this time I screwed up. Lesson learned: Never make a big order when half dead. I guess I have to make another order...

Top American inventions of the last 75 years topped by air conditioning? At least according to an online survey. It's interesting to see what people thought were so important to their lives.

My eyes stopped on the article titled You mean we can alienate customers AND throw money down a rathole? Where do we sign up? on Google News, and when I followed it it made me laugh. Why oh why are you going down the same stupid path as the RIAA, MPAA? Yes, the MPAA will start suing people who illegally share movies. My favorite quote is on a related article: "The first rule of life is also the first rule of business: Adapt or die. And if you choose the latter, be sure to sue your customers first..."
