Now I'm excited after reading the diary of one of my favorite Pot authors. She is apparently writing a sequel to a particularly LONG and ANGSTY fic she had written a while back. It ended on a note that while bittersweet works perfectly as a conclusion, but the story definitely has more angst potential. :D It ends with one character having changed own memories as a defense mechanism to cope with a very traumatic experience, and the other characters (especially the one that had caused the traumatic experience) having to live with it so that he could have some measure of happiness. Well, I figure the sequel will deal with his memory rearrangement beginning to become undone, because even in the original work there were clear indications that while he may be superficially "happy" the way he is, in his heart of hearts that is not the case. Now I'll have to check that site daily. Damn.

I had a great time the last couple of days reading the original fiction of a Hikago fanfic writer I really, really like. She's the one that wrote Glass Go Stone, the promisingly fun Hikago/shoujo manga parody, as well as the other kickass AU that just had the most awesome go game. Her fics are so enjoyable to read. Each original fic really has a manga-esque feel to it. Yes, they are a bit cliched, but that quality doesn't take away from the genuine pleasure of reading her fics. One features a pair of boys who are neighbors. One of the boys becomes so frightened when he hears even a mention of a ghost story (or any scary story I think) that he sobs uncontrollably and loses all ability to think. Well, turns out the other boy had actually spent his whole life nurturing this fear, because a) it amused him and b) he could have sex with impunity. Amazing how questionable consent issues don't seem to crop up in comedic manga-type stories. The actual story is very good too.
