No Deadline released the first chapter of Sleepers by Cathrine Ayako yesterday (See covers of volumes one, two, three and four). Just want to pimp it to people since I like this manga...enough to want to translate it all. ^_^ In any case, this is a sci-fi BL manga, the premise of which reminds me a bit of Scryed. About a decade ago something happened on a manmade island in (I think) Tokyo Bay and the people were changed...they became a mix of human and demon called Ouma. After several years of isolation, they were reincorporated into the rest of Japan, becoming its own municipality, the Ouma Ward. And the "face" of the Ouma Ward is the idol group Sleeper, made up of five young attractive Ouma. Yes, yes, it's about an idol group (I rolled my eyes as well), but more than that it is about the individual members of the idol group, as well as bigger things that involve, say, a powerful pure demon, as well as the cause of the accident that created the Ouma. I just like it. :D

It can't hurt to check it out, right? I think the second chapter will be coming out within the week as well! ^_^

I actually managed to be "productive" and got my butt into translating gear. Of course I'm not translating the one that should be translated now, but the one I feel like doing...:P For background I decided to finally listen to Yono Yoru ni, Tsubasa wo. I took turns listening to it for meaning and just listening to the lovely sounds of their voices. I ended up writing up some impressions while listening...of course that meant I wasn't translating as much as I could have been because I was busy typing up my impressions, not to mention listening to the drama so that I could have some impressions to type up...

I enjoyed the first drama track--even when I wasn't always paying attention to the words the sound of Seki and Hayami's voices were wonderful to listen to. And that bitter Seki with the desperate Naoe counterpoint was delicious. :D The second drama track made me laugh...Yes, Takaya, angst more! Not enough? Go on! MORE! More angst!! And track three is a more complete version of the hotel scene from book 9...*laugh*...yeah, all those lines they cut from the anime...Track four was cool Kagetora/Takaya moment...thank you for your cool lines said in your cool, cool voice. Naoe is eerily calm in the last drama track. It's kind of creepy with how calm he is talking about his love and Kagetora/Takaya...Though I do like the repetition of "anata wa tadashii" (you are correct), and then Takaya asking even though I've been abandoned by everyone? and Naoe replying if everyone abandons you will you become mine? Will you become only mine? When Takaya replies the only thing that will become Naoe's is his shell, Naoe replies in that freaky calm voice, even if it's your empty shell I will love you, I will be the only one to love you even if you become a shell...Only I can heal you...I will continue to say to you, that you are correct...(yes, I am listening to it right now). Okay, the way Hayami voices Naoe here really is creepy, even though the words are very angsty and romantic (?) and powerful and all that...

The weird thing is that the next track after the drama CD was "Crawling in the Dark" by Hoobastank (because Hoobastank comes after Honoo no Mirage as filed by album)...and the transition was perfect...and the song rather fitting Mirage (and in particular that last drama track)...

Well, I am going to try to sleep early tonight (meaning now), hopefully I don't wake up at some ungodly hour of the night again.
