Feb. 3rd, 2005 09:20 amDamn, once again Kilaeua's lava is flowing into the sea, creating a great show...I am never on the Big Island when these things happen. I remember that for Senior Trip in high school a couple years before mine, they actually got to see a fountain of lava gushing into the sky at night...by the time my year went Kilaeua wasn't erupting at all. So close, yet so far away...It is sad that I can go to Vegas for five days for almost the same amount it would cost for airfare/hotel to a neighbor island for a weekend. That's just wrong.
On a more personal note, I finally found Gravitation volume 12...when I wasn't looking for it. I was in a room of the house I would have never looked in, when I glanced aside and saw a corner of a familiar red and white cover peeking from beneath some papers...and sure enough, I pulled it out and now I have it. I took it with me in the car so that I could flip through it during the red lights on the drive to work, and damn I love this manga. Full rant will follow at a later point. I need to do it justice (which probably means rereading the entire series...he he...).
I also found the Trigun soundtrack I had bought many many years ago and never opened...I bought it for one track (after listening to a friend's copy), and so never felt compelled to listen to it much. I also took it with me and listened to a bit of it in the car. And yes, most of the music does nothing for me. It was nice hearing the opening and closing songs (I had forgotten this series is one of those with instrumental openings...what a great song), and the song I had bought the soundtrack for. Because it was still in the plastic case, I could see I had bought it for 1,800 yen used....this was probably back when it was around 120 yen/dollar, so $15?
