tuesday at work
Apr. 5th, 2005 03:06 pmI listened to the third Komatta toki drama CD last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. What possibly amused me the most was the last track which was a bit of seiyuu talk. Started off with Minagawa Junko. She related how she sent Abe Miyuki, the manga artist, a message asking who was playing her character's father. Abe-san replied "Narita Ken desu. ♥" (It's Narita Ken). In writing that seems fine, but Minagawa Junko actually said "Narita Ken desu" *pause* "haato" and I just found her saying "heart" out loud really funny. :P
It occured to me last night that the first episode of Loveless the anime is airing tonight in Japan. I knew the new season was coming up but it didn't really hit me till now. I hope there are some good shows this season because last season didn't produce shows that I fangirled over (and I can't assume that Loveless or Tsubasa will be good anime--I can hope, but I will not assume). Don't remember when Tsubasa is airing, but it must be soon. I haven't bothered checking out the full line up...I guess I'll learn of shows from word of mouth.
The local public radio stations are doing their semi-annual fundraising drive. I don't know why I bother to listen to them reiterate how they need the funds as 60% of their budget comes directly from private donors and that less than 1 in 10 listeners actually contribute, but it's still kind of fun hearing these voices try to be cheerful and positive day after day. And, well, it's hard to avoid them since they come on in the middle of regular programming that I do listen to. :P
Today on the way to work, they had students from the university's business school manning the phones, with the assistant dean as a guest. They had a challenge from a local bank to get 40 new members to contribute at least $120 via EFTor electronic fund transfer. The "host" asked the dean to explain what EFT was, and his reply was that they would go into your bank account in the middle of the night while you slept and took out money, and you'd wake up in the morning and check to see if you had any money left. *laughs* Thank you expert in business IT for your easy to understand and amusing (if utterly misleading) explanation.
