a fangirl post, at last
Jan. 15th, 2006 08:28 pmI came across a post of Boku wa Jesus by Yamada Mario on
yaoi_daily. I love the uke going around looking to buy "fellatio." In the first post, I laughed and laughed at the beginning where the seme, Kikasa, is offering the uke, Mamehisa, flowers. "I risked my life getting these flowers from the Himalayas for you. Won't you take them?" When Mamehisa points out that there were flowers missing from the flower bed right next to them, Kikasa ignores him and continues on with "The starry sky I saw on the Himalayas were beautiful like you. My diamond honey bean." That is so unromantic. XDXD
In any case, I gave up on the reading of the manga. I had some fun looking over Aniki Joutou (Yaizu Brothers, Fuckin' Cool) by Kano Shiuko (the older brother seme is so hot *_*), but then decided to poke around my bookshelf. I found a bunch of B Boy manga published around 10 years ago. I must say...they are quite different from the stuff being published now. The art style, obviously, is different. The basic dynamics are the same, but the feel of the stories and the characters are different. I used to love these manga, but now I can't quite connect with them.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, I happened to catch the first half of the Gokusen drama on TV the other day. Unfortunately, I had to leave halfway through, but what I did see made me curious about the anime. I think this is one of those series that really works much better as an anime. The teacher, Kumiko, is played by a cute actress who doesn't quite manage the voice from the gut thing when she gets pissed. They had to use actual teenagers for the students, which isn't always a good thing. I personally don't think most of those kids can act. The one kid that looks like he's going to be important--Sawada? He's played by a totally cute boy with very nicely colored flippy hair (reminds me of Tezuka--the hair part only). In any case, though half the scenes in the drama made me groan (even though they were pretty funny--perhaps it's just a lack of talent on the actors' parts?--they were pretty lame, too) I could totally see the potential for greatness...I guess I need to go hunt down the anime.
GAH! I almost forgot! I never played FFVII but this comic made me laugh. Okay, the idiotically grinning Sephiroth with his bloody huge sword in the background of one the panels made me laugh.
