still wanting the manga
Feb. 23rd, 2006 06:36 amAre there sports manga fanfics that can evoke the excitement of a game, with decent detail about the game itself to make it "seem real?" I've never read one, but my experience is limited in regards to sports manga fanfic. I've read numerous Hikago fics that have extremely exciting matches that really bring back the pure excitement and thrill of the game itself from canon. It's an amazing (and rare) experience that I wish I could have with some of the sports manga fandom.
I was just wondering because I got to see some Whistle! doujinshi that were very cute and pretty, but...more or less just slashy. I've discovered that this is yet another series I don't need slashed. I found myself wishing there were fanworks that had an awesome match in it or something....Basically I want more of something like canon. (Yes, I'm still desperately wanting the stupid manga. I found out Book Off is coming in with another shipment at the end of this week or early next week, and will be having a manga fair with 10,000 volumes next month...I suppose I'll wait till then and hope they come in with it...If they don't I'll just have to order them all new. ^^;)
I always find it odd when I don't want to slash a shonen series. It just seems so natural (and intentional, those buggers...they must know exactly what makes the fangirl squee...). :P
