Ugh, RL has kind of sucked this past week. Well, mostly work, but also some other stuff. It's funny how people often screw themselves, sometimes knowingly yet in denial. *sighs* I suck. Totally.

I also keep piling up on the fic recs, but never get around to posting them. I think I have a huge backlog of recs floating in odd files here and there. :P Some from last week:

Recovery by ltlj is over. Conclusion and Epilog have been posted, and I had to fight the urge to jump up and down in excitement. Wouldn't this make a great movie (or two)? Such great action, the characterization...I mean, Teyla, and Rodney, and John, and Cameron, and Jack, and Bates...And of course, the best lines ever, that everyone commented on. *flails*

Pants on Fire by lalejandra is a John POV fic set in the Publishing AU (You know, the one that began with The Continuing Adventures of Ronon Dex, Senior Editor and continued with You can Never Avoid Your Mother) that, frankly, depressed me even as it took my breath away. I actually don't like elements of the fic, but even those parts can't make me not admit that it's good. I can't believe just how different and yet fully fleshed out these characters are. I enjoyed Ronon's POV and didn't angst too much because he's more or less stable and balanced. John? OMFG he's screwed up. Amazing, amazing stuff. I hope people not into SGA stumble onto this universe, because it's just that good.

And Truth, Beauty by trinityofone is another amazing fic that isn't bound by fandom. The idea behind it is cool, the execution superlative.
