stupid people coming out of the woodwork?

Is it just me or are there more people posting really retarded crap in comms lately? Like one word posts, or a post to announce that they will soon be posting a "real" post? I don't mind the spam much as long as they don't do one of those lots of large pics not under an LJ-cut mistakes, but it feels like it's becoming more common.
