Feb. 7th, 2009 08:10 pmAn article on how a cover for an epic fantasy with a female main character was created was fascinating. I read a whole crapload of epic fantasy (and avoided urban fantasy) when I was younger, and that cover doesn't speak epic fantasy to me. It's NOT the female on the cover, it's the style. It makes me think of urban fantasy much more than epic. And I've never heard of the idea that urban fantasy is read by girls and epic fantasy is read by boys. Via
