Yep, I was after the same three books, and I'm sure a lot of other people were, too. They really screwed up with that one. (I just got an e-mail from them, suggesting that I might like Flesh & Blood 10. Um, it's a bit late, guys.)
I'm especially anxious because I'm leaving on vaction tomorrow evening. I hope my package gets here before then. >.<
I wanted to like Deadlock, but parts of it were...really not that great. Like you said, the grittiness felt very fake. (The crossdressers and their tea parties were just BIZARRE.) I thought Yuuto was completely stupid, which was doubly annoying since he was supposed to be smart. But I really did like the characters (stupidity aside), and the relationships (romantic and platonic)...as long as the third book has a happy ending and isn't completely retarded I'll be satisfied, though I don't think I'll ever count the series as a favorite.
