Remembering The English Patient

The book and movie were mentioned in passing in something I was listening to this week. It brought back memories of watching it by myself in a run-down theater years ago...
Most memorable line (for me): "I always wear it; I've always worn it; I've always loved you."
From the exchange:
Almásy: You're wearing the thimble.
Katharine Clifton: Of course, you idiot. I always wear it; I've always worn it; I've always loved you.
The scene: http://youtube.com/watch?v=oAWJjfN_ARE
The movie is too much depressing melodrama for me to watch again, but I will always remember it for the scenes of sinuous desert dunes at the beginning and the end, and that line by Katherine. So simply put, a bit exasperated, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
