insanenekoThe one thing that Silver Diamond 13 needs more of is close-ups of Chigusa. XDXD I totally enjoyed this volume, as I do with every volume of this series. I love the oddly leisurely pace...
First off, Hakubi is a hilarious tsundere character! I love how twisted his personality is, that he has to phrase everything to make it seem like he's only doing things to serve himself. I love how gullible he is. I love how he thinks Tohji and Kazuhi are an item, and the people who realize he thinks this way don't bother setting him right because it's fun. I love how he doesn't know how to react when Rakan directly asks him for insider secrets. XDXD
Kinrei is finally growing on me, somewhat. He really felt like a flat, uncaring bastard for most of the series, but now that he's finally showing real emotion I actually look forward to what happens to him. I like that he and the Prince make a deal to use each other fair and square.
The poor Kingen uncle, as well as the soldiers who serve the Kingen. They actually care about the people and want to serve them, as opposed to stupid snit Kinrei and his "I want to destroy this crappy world and make a shiny (sterile) new world where I am god" complex. Ugh.
Speaking of the soldiers serving the Kingen...I like their uniforms. It certainly helps that Chigusa was wearing one of their uniforms in the beginning. But putting that aside I love the scarred, tough leader of the bunch:
He's so dedicated! So loyal! If he only knew what a cynical self-absorbed bastard he served...
Rakan and company continue to delight. They are just the oddest group of would-be saviors...
I can't wait to find out the whole deal with Rakan and the Prince, as well as what lies within Chigusa's lost memory. And that new sanome! I want the next volume already! With more Chigusa!
