I checked out Darksoul, Shinsen, and Taka. Darksoul was using Reole for Lior so that was a minus.
Shinsen did what I think amounts to a speed-sub since they had it out so fast. I thought the translation was a little clunky and wordy, though certain bits struck me as well done.
Taka came out a little later. They seemed to have used a better raw. I thought it was clearer and there was no station tag in the upper corner. They also seemed to have worked the translation to read more naturally. And I think they kept the wealth of expletives in that I did hear in the Japanese. This is the one I'm sticking with, provided they stick with it too.
And there's at least 5 other English groups I've seen, but I'm not familiar with them.
Roy does come off as a little softer, but I think in the manga that's how he's presented at first. Then you get to the layers underneath. I'm having to dig my manga out to reread and refresh.
