Ahaha, I know exactly the picture of Ikushima and Sora you're talking about. I took notes while I was reading the series, and when I opened that book, I wrote, "Ugh, could the artist make Ikushima and Sora look ANY uglier?" (But, looking at my notes, I think my favorite line from the series comes from that book: 越後の頑固者が本気で惚れたってのがどういうもんか、思い知ってもらうからね。Yuuki can be so awesome sometimes. ♥)
The way the author uses foreshadowing drives me CRAZY. I mean, to have a conversation foreshadow a struggle Yuuki later has with his violin is fine. But to have Yuuki then think "later I would realize that conversation contained an important hint" is awkward and annoying and just plain terrible writing. I think it gets worse as the series goes on, too. :/
