I've been meaning to do this for a while, was only working via scans (which sucks for summaries IMO) and was taking absolutely forever. :P Got moving now that I own the actual manga (How I love flipping through it's crack-filled yet serious and sweet pages! I love this series!) it got much easier...I skipped entirely the Yonekuni x Shiro chapters because the arc is currently being scanlated. ^_^
These two chapters are about Kumakashi-sempai, the big teddy bear of a guy who starts the series out as more or less a seme and turns out to be quite the cute uke. ^_^ I know he has a first name which Joshua uses very endearingly (calling him "Teru" for Teruhiko), but I can't help but call him Kumakashi. :P My summary was finished in a fit of sleeplessness last night and probably features gratutious (and improper and confusing) use of pronouns and long, convoluted sentences, but I think it can be more or less understood. ^_^; Oh yes, and it's not proofed. Yeah.
Chapter 8
It starts off with a boy comforting a smaller boy crying about his small size. He points out that the tiny sunflower seed grows large before one knows it, so the little boy will also grow big.
Kumakashi is told by his grandmother that he must fulfill his duties and produce an heir. They had managed to arrange for the son of a prominent American bear family to come for stud duties. When Kumakashi protests that he has to carry the baby, his grandmother and mother inform him that it is extremely expensive to breed with a female while a male is a fifth of the expense.
At school the next day Kumakashi tells Norio that he has to sleep with a strange man to have a child for his family. Norio is surprised that two men can have a child. He asks how that's done. Kumakashi can't bring himself to explain so tells him that the child comes from a cabbage. Norio is upset that Kumakashi has to sleep with some man he doesn't know, let alone love. Kumakashi realizes he can't go through with it, but doesn't know how to refuse. Norio tells him he'll go with him for support.
Norio meets Kumakashi at the hotel, feeling rather out of place. They meet the representative of the McBear family. Norio introduces himself as Kumakashi's boyfriend. Kumakashi tells Norio in the elevator that he is happy that Norio is there for moral support, and to run away if something should happen. The grizzlies are said to be the most ferocious type of bear. They are led to the penthouse suite where they are met by not only the guy (whose but Kumakashi's mother and grandmother. Norio is overwhelmed by the guy. He can't believe they are the same age.
The American introduces himself as Joshua McBear, the studhorse, kissing Norio's hand. Kumakashi asserts that he's actually the one, upon which Joshua comments that he thought he was the bodyguard. Kumakashi politely declines the arrangement. Joshua is upset that he had come all this way for nothing. He tells Kumakashi that he's here for business, and to fuck his boyfriend after their business is finished. He kisses Kumakashi and claims that Kumakashi is wanting to have sex with him. He tells Norio to disappear or else he'll rape him. Kumakashi asks Norio to leave, upon which Norio is taken away. Kumakashi can't believe Joshua had kissed him like that in front of Norio, and says he must have never fallen in love because he does this kind of business. Joshua knocks Kumakashi onto a table and demands how he can say something like that, when he's just bought a man's penis. He tells him that he'll feed Kumakashi all night and things proceed.
Kumakashi wakes up in bed, tries to get up, finds he's in terrible pain, and remembers the night before. Joshua is sitting against the bed. He apologizes to Kumakashi for raping him. Joshua tells him he doesn't want to hurt him. He wants to be gentle. He will be gentle. He asks Kumakashi to let him be gentle to him. He asks if he can kiss him. He tells Kumakashi to forget about the kitten (Norio) for a week, that he's here.
Chapter 9
Joshua tells the family representative about how he wakes up to find Kumakashi sleeping in his arms, tired out from sex. He doesn't want to do terrible things to him, or force him but he's learned the joy of having him imprisoned in his arms when he wakes up. He can't stop himself any longer...
Kumakashi is in bed, thinking about how they've had tons of sex for four days. His voice is hoarse and he can't stand. Joshua helps him to the bathroom, and they take a bath together. Joshua wonders if the attempt to get pregnant is working. He wonders who their child will look like. Kumakashi asserts that it's better the child is like Joshua, because he's a grizzly.
Kumakashi realizes he's had several calls from Norio. He wants to go to school to reassure him. Joshua is adamant that he can't go. He knows Kumakashi is going to see Norio. He tells him to go, but that he won't be there when he comes back. Kumakashi goes to talk to him, but he's gone.
Joshua shows up at their school. He's come to beat Norio to death. Norio demands to know what happened to Kumakashi, calling Joshua a pervert. Joshua makes an outburst saying he's loved Kumakashi for years. Kunimasa comes into their class. He asks Joshua if he's after Norio. Joshua says he is (but not in the way Kunimasa thinks). Of course it turns into a fight.
Kumakashi finds out that Joshua was taken to a hospital. He finds Joshua pretty beaten up. Kunimasa tells Kumakashi to properly control his man, that Joshua had come after his "female." Joshua pushes Kunimasa away, saying not to touch Kumakashi. Norio tells Kumakashi that Joshua had come to pick a fight to monopolize him, and that Kunimasa misunderstood Joshua's intentions thinking he was in love with Norio. It turned into a fist fight, and even Norio was hit when he tried to stop them.
Kumakashi explains that Norio isn't his boyfriend, explains how he had been refused by Norio, and that Norio was pretending so that he could decline the arrangement. Joshua points out that Kumakashi might have been refused but that he still loves Norio. Kumakashi tells him that it isn't like that anymore, that he loves him now. He realized it when Joshua disappeared, then was found at the hospital.
Joshua declares that Kumakashi will be his wife. He is ecstatic that he's finally gotten Kumakashi. He confesses that he came to Japan to get him. Six years ago at a Bears Community party, Kumakashi had comforted him about his size. He had decided then that he would make him his wife. Kumakashi figures that was disillusioned when he met him six years later. Joshua tell him that he fell in love with him again. He declares that there's only Kumakashi for him. He's proud that he's grown big like Kumakashi had said he would, and that he can speak Japanese. He figures Kumakashi would be more excited if Joshua confesses his love for him in Japanese. He asks Kumakashi to say to him in English. Kumakashi stumbles, using "like" at first, but manages to say he love him. He continues on in Japanese that he wants him, that there's only him, that there's no one as adorable as him. Joshua is surprised at being called adorable, telling Kumakashi that he's the only one that would call him that. He gives Kumakashi a ring, and asks him to marry him when he becomes an adult.
