CLAMP is evil - Tsubasa and xxxHOLIC

insanenekoI picked up Tsubasa 10 and xxxHOLIC 6 yesterday (a comic book store friend orders them for me) and against my better judgment (as if I had any) I read them when I got home, even though it was late...and fell in love again. Damn CLAMP, they are too evil. >_< I love the crossover aspect between the two works as well. In any case, some fangirling is in order...
First, Tsubasa. The Ashura-ou and Yasha-ou arc finally ended. I really enjoyed it, because there was much long haired angsty beautifulness going around. And lovely tender touching of faces with sorrowful longing. The way things turned out was more or less predictable, but certain big elements still surprised me (in a good way) so I was happy. Then they leapt to another world (hey, wait a minute, this isn't Quantum Leap!) which was really different. The best part about the new world is that Tomoe's back! And she's obsessed with Sakura (as she should be!). But so far the story is very straightforwardly "adventure story"-esque and nothing to really rant about.
As for xxxHOLIC...I love it even more. I adore this series. Just the cover makes me so damn happy:
I love the weird colors they use for this series, and the strangely distant expressions on the characters faces as they pose.
This volume makes me love the main character Watanuki even more. He's so prickly on the outside but so soft and gentle on the inside. ^_^ And there's more Doumeki x Watanuki rabu! *shiawase* I reread the series (was tickled again by how much Yuuko kicks ass), then finally took the plunge and looked for Japanese fanfics, found a Doumeki x Watanuki doumei and started reading. One cool thing is that one anthology calls them 104, because Doumeki （百目鬼）is shortened to 100 (百) and Watanuki （四月一日）to 4 (四). I love the Japanese play on names thing. Found a couple of absolutely fabulous sites that portrayed them perfectly. *^_^* I love how awkward they are. I was determined to do a once over of all the sites today, but I realized at around 10 pm there were probably about 100 more to hit. I don't have the time. ;_; I'll have to indulge my fangirling impulses after my trip...which reminds me...I need to pack...
