I was looking for something else when I came across the Japanese PoT fanfic/art site the stoicism empire. First I read the novels, and wasn't too impressed by them. Then I noticed a little page under the main content menu:

Having just watched the movie, I had to click on it (RyogaRyo!). I love how the page starts off with the disclaimer:

The manga on the page are quite funny. I especially love a. ^____^ I really like her art.


Ryoga: --That's true
Ryoga: Doing something like this with you
Ryoga: I might feel bad towards Nanjiroh-san
Ryoma: You're apologizing to the wrong person!
Ryoma: GET OFF!
Ryoga: Ah, but you have absolutely no right to say no
Ryoga: So hurry up and strip

Then I checked out the comic on the top of the novel page. It's a standard chara becomes small premise (small as in small in size, not younger). I love how cute Ryoma is small, and mute. Tezuka is hilarious in his utter seriousness. But the cutest thing ever? Small Ryoma squatting next to a HUGE Karupin. SQUEE!! I hope she continues it. (The single funniest line? Nanako comes home and sees Tezuka. She asks if he has business with them, then figures he must be a kouhai of her uncle come to see him...of course Tezuka doesn't look anything like a student, right? ^___^)

Even though the novels were lacking, there were some great lines in them.
First, perfect snarky Ryoma:

「配慮は有難いが、お前にうつすと悪い」
「うつらないよ」
「あのな…」
「オレがうつらないって決めたから大丈夫デス」

and

「…そんな顔をするな」
苦笑交じりの手塚の声にリョーマがむっとした顔をする。
「どんな顔してようがオレの勝手でしょ」

I also like the flow of her writing when she strings together short phrases into a "sentence:"

ワンセットマッチ、蜂蜜のような夕焼け、手塚の本気、ハイテンション、ネットを越えないボール、6-4、また負けた。

I was only going to put the second to the last sentence, but I think it makes more sense in context:

もどかしさに神経がささくれ立つのを感じながら、手塚はふとリョーマの顔を思い出した。
つり目がちが挑戦的に笑っている。いつだってひどく傲慢で生意気なくせに手塚の手のひらに納まってしまうほどの小さな頭、どきりとするそのギャップ。髪の毛は梳けば素直に指先を抜けるくせのなさ、大きくて印象的な瞳、たまに潤んで揺れる、小さな口の中で閃く赤い舌、喘ぎ声、手塚を呼ぶ、苦しげな---
ふいに心臓が高鳴り始めた。熱の篭ったこめかみがどくん、どくんと脈打ち出す。
突然湧き上がる、切れ切れの衝動。
懸念、心配、放っておけ、生意気な薄い肩、目が離せない、なめらかな髪、欲情、抱きたい、まさか、今すぐ、手遅れ、間に合わない、もしも、早く、欲しい欲しい欲しい------
泡のように頭に浮かんでは消えるそれらに翻弄される。自分のことのはずなのに、制御不能な勝手気ままさはリョーマにそっくりだ。

Go muttsuri Tezuka!

And last but not least, the line that made me laugh and laugh:

思わず目を瞠れば、小さな口が静かに動く。低い声。
「あんたの言ってた[柱になれ]って、[頑張って壊れて来い]ってことだったの？」

「オレ猫見えるスカ」 XD XD So. Damn. Cute. GAH. And Tezuka's mother wanting to collar him! And the whole Karupin bit was utterly adorable. *dies* I hope she continues it, too!

Ryouma's last line is just beautiful. Perfect and devastating in its accuracy. *__*
