I hate the term "Yuuram." If any pairing name could make me hate a pairing, it'd be that (it sounds...unholy...obscene...stupid...). Except that I like Yuuri and Wolfram so I won't. I guess I'll just violently hate the pairing name. A close second is "Snarry." Thank god Harry/Draco is just H/D (or HP/DM) and not "Hraco" or "Haco." I have to confess I have no idea who "D1" are. I know it's PoT, I think it's Rikkai, I'm just not sure. I also get confused with all the strange pairing names in that fandom (the "Something" Pair phenomenon). Oh, and on the subject of PoT, I had to unjoin tenipuri yaoi when I started seeing "fukubucho of the OT5" fics. The list of the 5 made me boggle since it was pretty ridiculous. No more "OT5" of any kind, thank you very much. I don't get where "Donuts" came from. How does it indicate Doumeki and/or Watanuki?

My co-worker was bitching about how Angelina Jolie is pregnant now. She was miffed about the Brad Pitt/Jennifer Aniston split (mostly mad at Angelina for being the other woman) and was again miffed about the pregnancy. I had to laugh but could offer no further comment for her. Why do people care so much about these people's lives?

It has been all over the news for the past two days, next to other more relevant matters.

Like transgenic, fluorescent pigs ::is still in shock::

What I hate most about different communities is people who spam all of them at once with the same thing, namely, a fic. Oh, and I still remember the "X things about X character" meme that was fashionable once. What a nightmare!

I would have completely missed the pig news if I hadn't read your post. ^_^; I guess I only get select pieces of news.

I know exactly what you mean about cross-posting. It is very annoying seeing the same post via three comms one after another. Luckily it doesn't happen that often for me. :P

I keep the minimum PoT comms so that it doesn't happen to me either.

The last two PoT naming phenomena you mention are after my time (thank goodness) but D1 is Yagyuu/Niou, yes - what the Japanese call 28/82. It's actually my PoT group responsible for that, at the time Seigaku was playing Rikkai in the manga serialisation so we just started referring to Yagyuu and Niou as "D1". XD

"Donuts" is short for Doumeki/Watanuki -> Dounuki, but it was actually meant as a mockery of the weird pairing names people come up with. Except then it took off in its own right. XD;

Ah, so D1 was for Rikkai Doubles 1. I completely missed the mockery stage for "Donuts" and only saw it being used seriously.

The sad thing on being not into the fandom anymore is getting lost in all of the terms associated with it. I had to pause and think for a moment about OT5. I was debating whether that was something like OT3, only this time it involved 5 people or another cracked up term made by the PoT fandom. ^^;;

If it's any consolation, Yuuram is much preferable to Clorith (Cloud x Aeith) or Aeroth (Aerith x Sephiroth). Those pairing names remind me of chemical compounds that cause exploding heads.

Clorith and Aeroth are both abominable. I wish people would just not mash names together. *sighs*

Friend of mine used to be member of OT5 comm. Then she decided to left the comm because lately some of fics kinda sucks. ^^;;
About D1, probably that's Doubles 1 ?

*laughs* Nothing wrong with strange crack pairings running wild in their own commms. I kept seeing a lot of it in the general tenipuri comm, which was driving me nuts. [livejournal.com profile] petronia confessed to the "D1" thing, which is indeed Doubles 1.

Few things can triumph over the horror that is "Yummi".

Read [livejournal.com profile] petronia's reply-comment, and found out that D1 refers to Yagyuu/Niou...LOL. I prefer Niou/Yagyuu, to say the truth, and they're my doubles OTP.

XD

And name mashing is really annoying. I've avoided the FF7 fandom sometimes just bcos of this problem.

Heh.
