I am hoping that there are others besides [livejournal.com profile] mitethe who have read Smallville fic reading this, because I'd really like some recs. Specifically, angsty, dark (and maybe smutty?) fics. I am craving some, and Smallville got mentioned twice this week as having had good writers and surely there must be angsty and dark (and tense and smutty!) fics out there and people know where they are and are willing to share? Please?

I feel terribly left out when my RL friends go off on NCIS or SG-1 or SG:A or I don't know what other show I'm not watching but they are slash. >_<

I discovered yesterday that Arizona Green Tea with Honey and...something else is quite good. I love that it's not too sweet! I wish the can wasn't so big, though. I don't usually drink tons of cold drinks. :P

Tezuka's album "With" kicks ass. I finally opened the CD I had bought ages ago and left buried somewhere in the house and threw it into the car. The packaging and graphics are so un-gay uninspiring, I was very disappointed. Oh, well. The music is most excellent. Back when I was obssessively listening to my downloaded copy, I didn't listen to the songs later on the album and I realized why. That song with Inui and Kikumaru? The melody is very catchy, but Kikumaru needs to be silenced. He totally ruins the song. I like Inui's rapping, and I think it goes well with Tezuka's singing. I refused to listen to the last song, though. *shudders* I was reminded by how well MinaJun sings and am currently listening to "SR." I hadn't listened to the first CD in quite a while..."Realize" is a great song.

I feel like jello. It's not very pleasant. I need to stop pulling subject titles from the lyrics of songs I'm currently listening to.

*grin* Go here (http://seperis.illuminatedtext.com/recs.html). Boy do I love detailed, extensive rec pages. The reccer writes some really good SGA fic, too, plus a great deal of Smallville fic but I found her italics-laden early writing style difficult to parse. However, her current style reads well and she's got a fascinating AU WIP on her LJ that I'm following. Shalott, Destina, and the usual suspects write as wonderfully as one would expect. I'm very fond of the AUs in this fandom. XD

(This is actually the second, and finally successful, attempt to get into the fandom. I tried back when it started snowballing and sucking in the best writers from TPM, Due South, Sentinel and other juggernaut slash fandoms but couldn't get hooked. The stars must've lined up right or something. XD)

Oh...many fics...I am looking forward to exploring the fandom in all it's glory. Judging from the blurbs, looks like there'll be enough darkness and angst for me. XD

Rec any others you come across, please! It saves time (and going through the crap). ^__^

Just popping in. (Hi!)

I used to live for SG-1 (and BSG classic) but no more. I must admit my great love for SG-1 was based for the most part on the US(lash)T and all the tightly-knit buddy-buddy stuff, but that has faded away into blandness. I'm not sure if you'd like SG-1 or not... The older episodes are sort of charming in an innocent classic-ST way, but the newer ones aren't too different from most other Sci-Fi shows, for better or worse. Do you watch many Sci-Fi shows?

Hi! Hi! I've been rec'd SG-1 quite a bit. The very people who shoved the first season DVD at me (which promptly fell into the black hole that is my house ^^;) still love it. I actually haven't watched many Sci-Fi shows. My big TV sci-fi loves were classic Star Trek and X-Files (does that count??).

As for blandness...that's what fandom is for. It keeps the love alive when canon fails to deliver. XD

Hi! ^^ *hugs* SG-1 was sort of bumblingly cute in the first season, but I think it picked up a lot of promise in season 2 and delivered it for most of up through season 5 & parts of season 6 (not necessarily the parts that featured a returning main character, I have to add, but I don't know if you heard about the whole fandom war there..?). I wish I could just throw season 3 at you, since it's my favorite, but it's not one of those shows where you can jump into the middle of very easily. (X-Files counts in my book! ^^ Classic Trek, too. I adored that show.)

I get your point on the blandness... although (for me) it got to the point where I was not merely filling in the missing scenes in my imagination, but having to mentally re-write whole seasons to stay interested. That's when I said "blah" and moved on. ^_^;

Fandom war? I knew about the actor leaving the show and coming back (from my friends), but I didn't know there was a war....

I've really enjoyed most of the stories I've tried on her (incredibly long and thorough) list, and the canon lends itself to long, angsty, plotty fic so you should be all set. XD

I'll try to point out specific ones I've really liked when I find the time. RL is being so intractable right now. *sigh*
