I'm so glad I broke down and bought the Papa to Kiss in the Dark novel, because it is sooo much better than the anime and drama CD. I know it would seem like a no-brainer, but I was wary because I didn't know if I'd like the writing style. Well, it is in Mira first person POV and is just like his narration in the OVA and CD. Except with more coherence to the scenes and story. When I watched the anime and listened to the drama CD, I was puzzled as to how/when/why Mira decided that he and Kyousuke shouldn't have sex anymore. It seemed....kind of out of the blue. As if he had woken up one day and thought, I'm 15 and entering high school now, this should stop now. But in the novels you get a bit more detail, to show that Mira initially didn't realize that he and Kyousuke didn't just have an abnormal father-son relationship, but that their relationship was actually something you shouldn't talk about publicly. I love the details the novels provide, such as all the silly adorable things Mira used to say as a child. Or that Kyousuke supposedly named him after the Mila Schön brand cigarettes he loves. Or the random little comments Mira makes to himself. The little details that flesh out the characters and their relationships more fully, and fill out each scene so that everything seems to flow better.

The scene after Mira's first day of school, when they have sex in the living room? When Kyousuke jokes that he has his favorite food right in front of him and wants to taste Mira, Mira thinks that just a while ago, he might have said something disgustingly cute like "Papa, please eat me gently?" But he's no longer that adorable Mira...though even as he tries to stop things from proceeding his body quickly responds to Kyousuke's actions. The food joke continues with Mira saying his body heated up more quickly than something being microwaved. He wonders if he's even easier than a bento from a convenience store bento. His body quickly becomes "good for eating" in no time. I know it's cheesy, but it's such a fun cheesy. XDXD

Thanks! Finally I could understand some points that made me confused from OVA. :D

Yeah, reading the novel helps a lot (and it's even funnier). Actually listening to the drama CD helps, too. The OVA really did cut out a bit too much.
