First off, not a fic but story ideas by Pru. First one with chief of surgery Dr. Rodney McKay and chief of nurses John Sheppard is a winner! I mean, the dialogue is just...sparkling and witty and brilliant. XD After making a bad first impression and over a month of being scheduled every rectum-related surgery:

"I have seen so many asses," Rodney growled, collapsing into a chair in the break room. "I've seen the inside of so many rectums this month. I never want to see another rectum again."

John smirked, dressed in his dark red scrubs, leaning against a counter, large hands wrapped around a mug of coffee.

"That's too bad," he said sincerely. "I was starting to change my mind about going out with you."

Rodney brightened. "Okay, maybe your rectum," he corrected hopefully.

"God," John said. "Be still my heart."

I don't think I've mentioned Once Upon a Furry Octopus by SkoosiePants before, but it's probably considered a classic in SGA fandom that everyone has read already. It's about a furry octopus who loves pens and Rodney and helps bring together the romance that everyone else assumed was happening already. I love it when people just can't be convinced that what they think is totally and utterly wrong. (And I adore the phrase “secretly yet so-very-openly in love.”)

In any case, I mention the fic now because a coda to that fic has been posted, And They Lived Happily Ever After. I can only make small squeeing noises, my joy is so great. Because there is only one thing that can make a fic with a furry octopus pet better, and the author so graciously gives it to us. Got to mention the lines that kill me everytime: “You’re a slob. Ernie’s a slob who only says two words. Over and over again. I’m going insane here.” WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD TO ME US THE UNIVERSE SGA FANDOM?

Domestics by trinityofone is a lovely series of snippets. I really don't know what to say about it. It's not particularly funny or illuminating or snarky, but sweet and fuzzy and, well, lovely.

The title Five ways John Sheppard isn’t the Slut of Atlantis ™ by damarel was rather offputting, and I almost didn't click on the link. I'm so glad I did. I loved each piece of this fic: the John/Atlantis, the fun little bits of nothing, the whole Ronon thing ("John doesn’t want Ronon, but there are times he really wishes Ronon would wear more clothes."), and hard-ons in meetings and sex in puddlejumpers. And how sex makes everything better, including interfacing with Ancient tech.

The Fruit That Tempts Us by out_there is a sequel to Back to the Old Ways, which I had somehow missed. Both do wonderful Rodney, but I'm going to concentrate on The Fruit That Tempts Us. It made me incredibly sad because it's so human to hide behind excuses and fronts, but secretly hope and wish.

He stands up and tosses one of the peaches to John. At John's raised eyebrow, he says, "They're good. Sweet. You should try one."

And because the logical part of him outweighs the foolish, he doesn't stay to watch John bite into it, to see the juice shine on John's lips, to hear the soft, suckling sounds. Because Rodney is -- above all else -- practical, he leaves and doesn't taunt himself with what he knows he can't have.

And finally, a splinter AU from Ardhanarishvara by Mona. It's femslash (which is really not my thing), but it was hot in that slow steady simmering building kind of way. The attention to detail, Cadman's thoughts, John's reactions and how they seem so different when he's a woman...are all just amazing.

I printed the furry octupus story to read in the bus this morning...

OMG... Loved it. Totally crack but so cute (wonder if Temp will finally be able to tell John & Rodney what else Ernie is saying aside from MINE and YOURS ^_^).

It's such great crack! How much good crack can one fandom produce, really? I'm hoping it's a lot. I die a little every time the different ways Ernie says MINE or YOURS is described.

I wonder how Temp will end up. I mean, with those two as dads and fluent in furry octopus language? Not even in the same galaxy as normal.
