I keep thinking of things that make me go, "That'd make a great post!" only to not have the time and/or energy to do it...and then I forget all about it. I keep repeating that over and over these past few...weeks?...months?...In any case, I post randomly because it is Friday. :P

I can't help laughing everytime I look at one of [livejournal.com profile] xandria's posts of The Buddy System on [livejournal.com profile] yaoi_daily. Lower half of first page: その証拠にヘテロのくせに俺の誘いにあっさり乗って、俺の上にもすんなり乗ってきた。I love the play on words using the verbs. (Closest thing my tired mind can come up with in English is "Even though he's straight he quickly jumped at my invitation, and jumped me easily.") XD

Been rereading the Kusareen no Housoku series by Yoshihara Eriko and been enjoying it greatly. She's of course most famous for Ai no Kusabi, in which her writing style only serves as a barrier to reading. In this much less serious series, I really just chuckle at how her non-fluid style gives the narration just a bit more oomph. This excerpt is talking about one of the main characters, who is stunningly beautiful (in an angelic way) physically, but his personality is very powerful and harsh, and he is prone to great amounts of violence if provoked:

綺麗なモノには猛毒(トゲ)があるものなのだ。
すばらしく際立ったその美しさに、ついフラフラと魅入れて泣きを見た者ー数知れず。
美は非力の証。。。とばかりに侮って、不様に返り討ちにあった者ー山のごとし。
それでも、なお、自ら進んで下僕になりたがる信棒者ー星の数。

Forget any kind of English. My mind refuses, point-blank, to translate.

I hate not knowing what tag to put on a post. I feel irritated that I can't categorize all my posts nicely, but then...I guess I'm just a wannabe anal organizer. *sighs*

Partly in thanks for all the lovely music I've gotten recently, I wanted to share some tracks from Songs from a Secret Garden, the first album by a violin and piano duo who play lovely and soothing music. I only own two of their albums, this one and White Stones (which I've discovered is in a "have the case but not the CD" state ;_;), and they were both good. One of these days I'll pick up some more of their music.

Nocturne
This is the first track of the CD, and a perfect introduction. The haunting vocals that begin the piece never fail to captivate me. Not to mention the violin that takes up the melody after that.

The Rap
A piece with a faster tempo that is...just nice to listen to. And it's a nice break from all the melancholy of the rest of the album. ^_^;

Sigma
Just plain beautiful.

Music can make the unbearable sort of bearable. How powerful is that?
