Ardhanarishvara by Auburn and Mona is waaaay too funny. I love this fandom. Genderfuckery and snark and hilarity ensues. I love Telya not being the calm collected one, and Ronon all ready for sex and John just being John. I look forward to more.

And that led me down an evil path of cross-dressing and more genderfuckery (neither of which are particular kinks of mine):

All Skirted Up by [livejournal.com profile] bladdergirl is a hilarious John in skirt McKay/Sheppard fic. I love Bates as crazy, everyone's reaction to seeing John, and John ending up very, very happy about the whole thing.

Given a Choice, It Would Always Be Sunday by [livejournal.com profile] godofwine is a weird Rodney POV with flashes like on some kind of acid trip, but slightly more lucid and not so colorful. It's cool. (Note: Not genderfuckery...I stupidly stuck this in here ^^;)

Snapshop: Circle, or, that one where John's a girl. by [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock is an amazing serious girl!John. Wow. I love how he doesn't wear his female body comfortably and has a hard time adjusting. As always, Pru manages to infuse so much in the little details, the turn of the phrase, the quiet echoes of something just out of reach.

Girl!Rodney snippet by [livejournal.com profile] eliade is Rodney being Rodney, regardless of his sex:

He eyed Rodney across the table, observing that gender apparently had no effect on appetite. "I hear you've been terrorizing the science department with your breasts."

"I only flashed them once." Rodney slowed his chewing and tipped his temporarily feminine head. "Okay, twice. Kavanaugh literally fled before me, averting his eyes."

Poking around led me to a post in which [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock has a bunch of drabbles. My personal favorite was John with the President ("In my totally professional opinion...no.") because John shouldn't talk about Rodney in public because it's terribly embarrassing and/or unsettling for the listener. Also, a bunch of great drabbles in the comments:

Realistic McKay/Sheppard dealing with DADT and being found out by [livejournal.com profile] smittywing. I was saddened by John's explanation of best case/worst case scenarios.

Big news of the week is that Biblos has declared bankruptcy. I'm not feeling much of a reaction other than irritation that we won't get steady installments of Viewfinder for now...Just as it's gotten reallly interesting. *sighs* Not to mention other stuff I love like Haru and Sex Pistols. And I have to wonder how it's going to affect back stock. Will things become less available? I'm glad Chara didn't go under. Then you'd hear me screaming because a good portion of my trashy BL novels are from that label. ^^;

Today's By Request column in the newspaper featured inari sushi using tofu instead of rice. It sounds kind of hinky but kind of interesting...I love inari sushi because it's simple and hearty (as long as the rice isn't flavored too sweetly). The recipe below:

***

Inari Tuna-Tofu
16 inarizushi (cone sushi) wrappers
Filling:
1 20-ounce block firm tofu
1 6-ounce can tuna, well drained
1/4 cup minced green onion
3 dried shiitake mushrooms, soaked, drained and minced
4 dried shrimp, soaked, drained and minced
1 egg
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup brown rice, optional

To make filling: Remove water from tofu by wringing in cheesecloth. Place in a mixing bowl and add remaining ingredients; mix well. Divide into 16 patties that will fit in sushi wrapper. (If using rice you will get more than 16).

Spray a skillet with cooking oil spray and sauté over medium heat until each side is brown. Cool slightly.

Squeeze sushi wrappers to remove all liquid. Place a patty inside each one.

***

Click on the link above for nutritional analysis and the rest of the column. It's amazing what you can do with tofu. My neighbor makes the most amazingly tasty yet low fat/calorie tofu pie...

Will my obsession end some day soon? I just keep reading and reading and reading...

The Greatest Rescue Mission in the Pegasus Galaxy by [livejournal.com profile] _mausi is, um, truly the greatest rescue mission ever. Really. Too damn cute.

Rodney's List of Five Planets He Absolutely Hates (and Three He Wouldn't Mind Going Back To) by [livejournal.com profile] everagaby does not have all the planets promised, but what there is is FUNNY. Rodney is so Rodney, and it's teamfic. XD In any case, read about Planets #1 & #2 and Planet #3.

Flaws by [livejournal.com profile] tielan is a 7 Deadly Sins Challenge fic made up of snippets for different people with different sins. Interesting take on some of them.

Falter by [livejournal.com profile] minnow1212 is a set of four snippets. There are many empty places in the Pegasus Galaxy. Their job is to walk through them.

The Sensual World by [livejournal.com profile] trinityofone is very strange aliens made them do it PWP...I think. The flow of the story is lovely, even if the whole fic is totally confusing and just plain weird. I do love the fleeting mention of back story. It's cool when things aren't spelled out.

No Small Resistance by [livejournal.com profile] quettaser is an interesting Rodney POV mostly featuring dogtags and his mind going at 100 mph.

Realm of Dryads by [livejournal.com profile] trinityofone is so dreamy and creepy. *_*

He saw trees like that. Plenty of trees which at first glance seemed to be the flirt or the flyboy, the leader, the lover, the Lantean prince. But Rodney couldn’t move more than a couple feet toward any of them without realizing that they were wrong, all wrong: not him, not him...

A Major's Guide to Dining in the Pegasus Galaxy from [livejournal.com profile] stargateanon is fun and confusing and poor poor Lorne. I love the different versions of everyone he meets.

The Continuing Adventures of Ronon Dex, Senior Editor by [livejournal.com profile] lalejandra is publishing industry AU Ronon/John that...is hilarious and cool and makes me wish I knew anything about the industry because I'm sure it'd be a thousand times funnier. And more! I really do love this Ronon. And the coda: You Can Never Avoid Your Mother.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Physicist by [livejournal.com profile] nickeyb is an interesting spy thriller AU that is modeled on something I'm not familiar with. But it's cool. The slightly bitter and distant mood throughout was great.

The Adventures of John Doe and the Hot Stranger by nel was too damn funny. John and Rodney wake up with amnesia, and they are so them even in their state of cluelessness.

Voices by arionchan is a cool twist on Atlantis being sentient and in love. I like Rodney's reaction to finding out.

For [livejournal.com profile] mitethe (if she doesn't have them already) as well as everyone else, more TRAX music because they kicks way too much ass:

Tears (TRAX Version)
Paradox
Scorpio
Vanish

And I figured if I'm going to do a music post, I should share more. Camino is a Japanese Indie rock group that I've grown to like quite a bit. I only have several of their songs, but they are disgustingly addictive. The annoying thing is that their CDs aren't available via the usual sources, being indie and all. I'd totally buy their albums.

GO MAD EMOTION
This song kind of oozes in a rockish way.

Lives
Upbeat and kind of uplifting.

Aren't my descriptions awe-inspiring? I have such a way with words. *snorts*
