The saga of the boy and his pencil continues! I swear that pencil boy is so disgustingly adorable (the watermelon! *flails*)...BTW, if people didn't already guess Chibita says "pitsu" a lot (it's also used as a sfx...which is baffling if cute). In fact, all his sentences end with "pitsu," it's just not reflected in my quick translation (the quality of which I refuse to guarantee) since it just would sound lame in English.

terabithia again...

I just listened to a wonderful interview with author Katherine Patterson and her son David who adapted her wondrous children's book Bridge to Terabithia to film on NPR. I'm so glad David said "NO" to so many movie producers/studios who had "great ideas" to "fix" the book. The interview also provides some background on the origins of the book as well as a glimpse of Katherine Patterson's apparently amazing life.

I had been very upset after seeing the absolutely awful preview, but listening to this interview along with reading several very positive reviews makes me want to see the movie now.

I didn't know that so many parents have been against children being exposed to this book. WTF do they want to expose their children to, if not something this great?
