I did a quick read of the manga Emma by Mori Kaoru. Wow...nice art. Story is pretty good, too. Some developments weren't well fleshed out, but overall very enjoyable. And there's just something about a romance between classes that's a joy to read. Emma's attitude kind of reminds me of Jane Eyre. I only wish the copies I got of several of the last chapters weren't in Chinese. I can only guess what's going on in those. :P

Oh, speaking of England, I finally listened to the Flesh & Blood drama cds. OMG I can't help but die laughing every time I think of Kaito's "chant" in Japanese when he did his fortune-telling for Sir Francis Drake. Nothing like being able to say anything you like because no one can understand. And the more I hear Suwabe as Geoffery, the more I adore him. Su~te~ki! And damn, I am liking Fukuyama Jun more and more the more I hear him. He does a really good Kaito. I adore Nigel's reaction to the cat. ^___^ I didn't quite expect Vincent to have such a sneer in his voice, though.

Read several very funny Viewfinder doujinshi, especially the summer themed one and the Dragonball one. The second one in particular...I wish I knew where my manga was, because the whole merging thing just killed me. Super Seme!

And I spent an hour or so going around looking for pretty Togainu no Chi fanart. I particularly like the first two:

I LOVE that part. I remember when I first started reading the series, I thought Kaito was a bit annoying, but I totally fell in love with him right then. Actually, I love that whole scene. So much good stuff there.

I didn't quite expect Vincent to have such a sneer in his voice, though.

Maybe the director hates Vicente like I do. XD Fukuyama Jun kind of broke my heart during the special talk by saying how much he like likes Vicente. T_T

I was underwhelmed by Kaito in the beginning. I now appreciate that he was set up as a normal teen in normal surroundings, and only after being thrown into crazy new circumstances does he exhibit the cleverness and courage (with just that bit of tongue in cheek) that helps him to survive.

I'm still ambivalent towards Vicente, so I don't really know what to make of him. I can tell from the illustrations that he will continue to figure large in the scheme of things, but...I suppose I'll find out in due time.

Yep, I totally agree. It took me a while to see that, though. I didn't really like that he was kind of wussy, but now I see that she just used that to show how different life is now compared to then. And, honestly, if he weren't a little wussy about some stuff, it wouldn't be realistic. It's all very well to imagine how romantic time travel is, but honestly life sucked back then; I sure couldn't handle living that way.

For some reason Vicente rubbed me the wrong way since he first showed up (because he's not a pirate?), and he's only gotten more annoying as the series goes on. I think he needs a good kick.

He isn't overly wussy. He's wussy in the way basically anybody from now would be back then. So instead of being annoying (like he is when he's still in his time) he becomes sympathetic.

I'm okay with Vicente (though I still think he's just way too devoted to his duty and country, that he'd reflexively choke a kid whom he was feeling all protective over just because he said something unfortunate) so far. Frankly, I like his hair the best out of the three and that helps. (Yes, I'm shallow)

Hmm, I think your average 17 year old boy could at least throw a punch, which Kaito doesn't seem to be able to do.

But yeah, I agree that when he goes in the past he becomes more sympathetic because he whines about stuff that anyone would whine about, rather than " I hate my parents and nobody loves meeeee" or whatever. Plus...well, we don't know, since we only saw him in the present for a little bit, but in the past he uses spunk and cleverness to get out of scrapes, and that goes a long way for me to overlook his more annoying qualities.

I'll keep quiet about Vicente until you've read a bit more. I agree that he's hot, though.

Hm, it sounds like Vincente might do some dastardly deeds...(He's hot, but that collar on his outfit is kind of dorky)
