1. The exchange between Geoffrey and Nigel after they capture the Portuguese ship captained by a Spaniard. I love how he asks (rhetorically) if he's cursed or it was some kind of training for him, since he has to work hard to clean up after Geoffrey all the time.
2. Petting the kitten all timidly, and getting freaked out when it starts purring! *_*
3. What an unconscious flirt (well, not really): Smelling Kaito's hair and saying how he always smells good
4. His dream to make Geoffrey as rich as Sir Francis Drake, imagining people in Plymouth praising him because they figured Geoffrey would die penniless. LOL
5. The ever so conservationist promising Kaito a bath if he has to hide in the bilge! Oh, you are such a softie.
6. Eyepatch! Two bladed fighter! RABU!

Er, Vicente yelling "You're mine, Kaito?" Okaaay....

Kaito is quite an unconscious flirt as well. Kissing Nigel's eyepatch? If he hadn't fallen in love with Kaito yet, I'd think this would be the moment.

Geoffrey, jealous! I love how he keeps telling himself that Kaito can't become anyone's, because he's England's. And this playboy stealing a kiss from a sleeping boy? He's so adorable!

On a more serious note, Kaito agonizing over whether he wanted Vicente dead or not was a nice touch. Being from modern times, we aren't used to violence and death like that. But how else will he be free from Vicente? Also, his fear of more death among the crew was touching.

I love Nigel to death, but he kind of causes me pain because I want him to be happy, but he insists on being in love with Kaito. He needs to find someone else, for real.

I was really amused the other day because I was reading about the manga snippet on a Japanese fansite, and the girl was like, "If I have any complaint about it, it's that I wish she'd drawn a scene with Nigel in it..." So cute.

Are you reading four yet? Four is really, REALLY good. Um. Not that I'm trying to rush you or anything. *cough* >.>

But who'd be good enough for Nigel? I am not one to take to characters showing up much later and becoming a love interest. :P

I wonder if they will turn at least the first (couple of) volumes into a manga? Chara seems to like doing that with some of their more popular novels.

I've started four. So far so good. ^^

Pretty much the only candidate for Nigel is Kit, who shows up in book four. (Or is that already too late for you?) I thought he was a throw-away character at first, so I didn't have a lot of hope, but he comes back later. Of course, actual history doesn't bode well for that relashionship. :/

I think there are a ton of people who would love to see this story manga-ized, and it's probably only a matter of whether Yukifuna is willing to or not.

I don't consider it too late, but I don't have much of an opinion on Kit yet, since he's so far only showed up once (though I had to laugh at the way he's introduced to the reader! Poor Nigel!). Perhaps since this is (possibly) an alternate timeline he won't die the way he historically does? Kaito did warn Geoffrey, though...Kaito has learned that trying to change the past can lead to unexpected and bad things, so...who knows...

I wish she would be willing, but I'd understand if she didn't. The difference in the amount of work it'd take to draw a manga versus novel illustrations is huge, after all. And at least we have the cd dramas, which are so much fun. XD

As I recall, Kit doesn't do a whole lot in that book; he just makes it known that he's interested in Nigel. I didn't really take him seriously as a love interested until he showed up again later.

Perhaps since this is (possibly) an alternate timeline he won't die the way he historically does?

spacealien_vamp and I were speculating about that. We guessed that if Kit lives, he would end up more popular than Shakespeare. It could be interesting, if she goes that route.

We also speculated that Nigel could go back to the future with Kaito and Geoffrey, and end up with Kazuya. Not particularly because we think they would make a good couple, just because we like both characters and have a tendency to want to match everyone up. It would be rather ridiculously convenient, though, so I'm not sure I really want to see that happen.

Sometimes the drama CDs just make me want an anime. I know it's never going to happen, but...I still want it. :/
