Though RL has been a bit much lately, I've been itching to post several pics from the latest issue of Pafu. First off, the original cover illustration by Honami Yukine! Click on image for bigger pic, click again for full size. The other two pics are posted full size under their own cuts. All are very pretty! XD
The artist is Takatsuki Noboru. While I don't recognize the name, the art looks really familiar...Isn't this the artist of that BL game set in the brothel? *shrugs* In any case, I do like the fancy clothing, the eye-patch(!), Death(?) emerging from the dark water below...
Yuki-sensei draws some of her favorite pottery pieces into bishonen! The dark guy is yakishime, which she describes as "wild in color and form;" she likes it's rough texture. She mentions that one dunks yakishime pieces into water before using them, and the resulting wet vessel exudes sensuality...
The guy with glasses is kohiki, which she thinks of as someone wearing glasses. She likes the whiter pieces. She describes it as a simple, gentle and warm vessel.
I...imagined a manga in which a bunch of Japanese pottery pieces turned into gorgeous guys, sticking like unwanted burrs to the poor main character who was, say, totally unwillingly sorting through her grandfather's dusty but treasured collection. Yes, I imagine a girl at the center of a comedic reverse-harem-type shoujo manga in which there is no romance but lots of gorgeous guys making tons and tons of trouble for the poor girl...
There's also a long interview with Yoshinaga Fumi in this issue, but I haven't had a chance to read it. I will, eventually...I also need to do more posts of that CJ Michalski manga...*sighs*

Date: 2007-04-15 07:41 am (UTC)The illustration is an original piece, so it's probably not associated with a game. Unfortunately.

Date: 2007-04-13 02:46 pm (UTC)uwah I am being bitchy XD but seriously the water background is like oil painting, beautiful!
and I wonder if the cover is from some Yukine Honami's new manga *.*
Oh I can totally imagine a new weird serie with bishies-pottery :)) I want it centers around a female character narrating the stories about those bishies' relationship. From a woman with decent sens of humor's point of view, it must be hilarious. Must be shounen-ai though :P
Shimizu Yuki did a perfect fanservice with Ze serie, you can't get a better background setting for homosexual intercourses, threesome, shota etc. XD every kind fetish is satisfied. If you are not keen to books 1-4, book 5 and (probly) 6 get better (my personal taste) ^.^

Date: 2007-04-15 07:51 am (UTC)I like your idea for the pottery bishonen manga. I can handle Shimizu-sensei when she's not doing angst, so I'd love a really fun story by her...I thought there were only 4 volumes out of Ze?
