i'm surprised i'm still watching anime...

insanenekoWatched episodes 2 and 3 of Romeo x Juliet (I'd have watched ep 4 as well if it hadn't been encoded with WMV9...GAR). Oooh, the pretty. *_* I am so far just tickled to death with the (brief) Romeo and Juliet interactions, as well as the two sighing over each other separately. They are so cute!!!
One thing that is annoying me to death, though, is how evil and bad and callous Romeo's dad is. The whole Montague rule crushing the people thing? Made me want to spork someone. So...the Capulets were all shiny and benevolent and weren't typical ruling class who didn't really bother thinking too hard about the struggles of their subjects? Just leave it at noble families fighting amongst themselves mostly and leave rescuing the city alone, seriously. I can see an argument made for Juliet being different, having been raised among the rabble and not in an insulated environment, but this strong emphasis on how EVIL Montague is just ruins the enjoyment of the show for me. I suppose there's the contrast between Romeo's dad and Romeo (and his mom!) for interest, but I kept wondering why Romeo's dad tolerates a son who isn't all hard and evil just like him.
The doctor giving out bread and tomatoes and what happens to him? Who didn't see that coming? Can you be a little less circumspect, dude? GAH. He deserved a bad fate because he's STUPID.
To end on a positive note, love the strong association with Juliet and lilies. It's so appropriate. XDXD
Koutetsu Sangokushi ep 4 irritated me, in that I still couldn't remember anyone's name (it doesn't help that half my f-list is Chinese and calls the characters by their Chinese names...I can't remember either the Japanese or Chinese readings....;_;). Also, reckless kid of one-eyed general dude? Can I spank him? GAH! And one-eyed general dude! NOOOO! I liked his voice, his character design, AND his fighting style. *sighs* I don't look forward to the next episode...Unless there is some major spanking happening to reckless kid.
Love the scene with the master dude in the moonlight...He's so creepy! At least, I think that was master dude? He needs to show up more. ;_;
