Star Trek XI Teaser Trailer...Completely uninformative as usual for a teaser, but....WOW. The Enterprise!! *_*

One Pound Gospel j-drama? Put me to sleep already, the manga managed to bore me as few manga have. Or maybe they put some pizzaz into the drama?

Some manga I read and wrote about a long time ago but forgot to post:

Silver Diamond 12: Overall a slower volume, but it did feel like things were actually leading up to something. The friendship of the four are adorable as always. I love the extra bits at the end with the hair touching. XD I always found Kinrei about as exciting as an unedible (but not as yet rotting) dead fish and was completely bored with his backstory. However, I did like his confrontation with the Prince. LOVED Prince declaring that he couldn't stand the idea of being used and deciding to take himself out to protect himself! The height of arrogance, it is delicious. And Kinrei actually feels something when Prince slits his own throat! As I know he isn't going anywhere I'm glad to see that there's some spark in him.

I also loved the continuing interaction between "Boku-chan" (that well born kid from the city sent by Kinrei to assassinate Rakan) and the numbered rejects as they make their way out from underground. He's so easily manipulated, it's cute.

Asterisk 2: Pretty, pretty art. Really cute young angels. Really hot adult angels. Battles! Cats with issues! Angels with issues! Loving this series quite a lot. I like having an angel bureaucracy that isn't fucked up like so many in manga. Please don't turn into a procession of "heartwarming" stories about all the gay guys a la G-Defend and remain a cohesive narrative with an end like Jinju Horetsuden.

Kuroshitsuji 2: Pretty cross-dressing! Love the women's outfits very much. Sebastian looks GOOD with a cravat. REAL GOOD. Maybe when I'm feeling less lazy I'll scan some pics of the prettiness. On the downside, I fear a degeneration into fighting and power-uping and all that crap. What I loved about the first volume was the balance of the perfect and elegant butler with the kick-ass demon...I'm hoping it doesn't tip too far over to the kick-ass because that's a recipe for boring repetition. ;_;

I also found volume 2 of Kuroshituji a bit less... unique. I 'm afraid volume 3 is going more along the "fighting endlessly" line. There seem to be a hint of some Arabian Orientalism influences coming into play at the end of the volume and I am hoping it will mean a respite in all the mid-air demonic collisions (with silver cutlery).

It still look good though, especially the cover and I just try to look beyond the story and treat it as a black and white art book. I just wish to see a return to book 1 because that was awesome (and I used that word too much in regard to this manga already XD).

mmm... need to get Asterisk soon...

I know that there'll be endless fighting in volume 3, I'm just hoping it doesn't take up all of it. Also, that the Jack the Ripper due doesn't act like a typical shonen-type opponent. As long as the quality of the art doesn't degrade, I'll try not to complain too much. :P

hmmm.... i'm still in two minds about One Pound Gospel j-drama. I've never read the manga so I think that could be an advantage (I tend to be disappointed with most live action drama adapted from manga). But I'm still not convinced that Kame can pull through the boxer role. He's just too..... pretty? I saw episode 1 and it was ok. Let's see how it progresses.

On a separate note, I love Silver Diamond too! It's hilarious, I enjoy the mangaka's sense of humour. ^-^ I'm so happy that it's been licensed in the US.

Oh, so the drama's out already? I didn't care enough to check the details. I think if anything the drama might be an improvement over the manga for me.

Yeah, the drama is currently screening in Japan, up to episode 3. I quite like it so far, it's funny, OTT and most of all I have to say that Kazuya Kamenashi managed to pull off the role reasonably well. Can't say much about Meisa Kuroki, she just looks pretty that's about it.
