On the Media explores whether we will have privacy protections of data on our computers. Scary shit, frankly. I really hated how the piece ended with speculation on whether Congress will step in and legislate protection, yet mentioned how they'd have a hard time because they'd have go up against the "must go after child pornography!" argument. So in order to combat child pornography we have to give up all rights to privacy of our computers? I'm getting sick of the "protect the children" card being whipped out for everything. Not that I don't believe in some measures to "protect the children," but I can't help but have an automatic bad reaction to the argument because it's abused so much.
