I finally made lemonade using simple syrup from this recipe, and wished I'd done it earlier. It was so easy! My goodness, fresh lemonade is wonderful on hot, humid days. Especially when they don't cost $2-$2.50 per glass. XDXD I also managed to use up most of the extra brown sugar I had laying around from another recipe, to boot. That's why the lemonade is a bit darker than normal. I put it in a lovely (and heavy) glass pitcher we "discovered" forgotten in a random cabinet this morning. One nice thing about cleaning out is the many fabulous finds you can find in your own home.

Now I want to try common variations such as ginger or mint lemonade. They sound so refreshing!

In less happy news, one of our neighbors is throwing a big party. Nothing wrong with that, right? Except that they are singing karaoke outdoors with the volume turned WAY UP. It's been going on for hours, and from past experience it will continue for several more hours. I don't understand why these people have no shame at all, subjecting several blocks of homes on a Saturday to their godawful singing (with MIDI music, no less!). Wish it wasn't so hot so that we could close up all the doors and windows and maybe lessen the noise.

On a related note, a car with a seriously augmented audio system drove behind me for several blocks today. It wasn't just loud. It had such major bass that it was sending pressure waves in all directions (at least, that's what it felt like) and causing actual pain in my head and ears. I've never had this experience before and can't believe that thing isn't illegal. -_-

Enjoy! It's just lovely. XD

Yeah, it was hell. But once it cooled down later at night we closed things up and it wasn't so bad. ^^;

I must try that recipe. It sounds delicious!

Those augmented audio systems are everywhere around here. I don't know why they're not illegal. I like to listen to my music loud when I'm on long stretches of highway or country roads, but it's just a plain stereo and when I'm at a traffic stop or in city streets, I turn it down in case it bothers other people. Those augmented systems actually make my windows shudder, even if they are several cars away. How can those drivers stand it?

Yes, try it! It's just *fabulous*.

I think those drivers must have lost all sensation (it goes beyond hearing since it vibrates every bone in your body). I hope we don't get more of those systems here (or the local government bans them) because then there'd be justified road rage.
