getting high on good smells

insanenekoColor me impressed. I'd been troubled by really rough skin on my feet but couldn't bother buying something to scrub them with. At the same time, there's just something nasty about wearing sandals with rough heels...I was resigned, but then I remembered Elemis Exotic Frangipani Monoi Moisture Melt. I bought it after a spa treatment on a cruise because it smelled so good, but I hadn't really used it since then. I was told that slathering it on and sleeping with socks on would do wonders for your feet, so I decided to try it. Mindlessly easy and it wouldn't require me to prop myself up in the shower trying to scrub at my feet. In any case, after four days my soles look quite good. Still slightly rough, but considering how bad they were before? A miracle! The oil just melts into your skin immediately. It doesn't hurt that it smells heavenly. The blurb on the back of the bottle calls the scent of the frangipani flower "exquisite." I can't disagree one bit.
One bonus for me is that this oil solidifies in "cool temperatures" (you have to stick it in warm water to melt it before using), but apparently the temperature never gets low enough in Hawaii for it to ever solidify. It went through "winter" always liquid. XD;
Speaking of nice smells, I am quite enamored of the scent of Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Moisturizing Lotion in Japanese Cherry Blossom. I got a tube as a present and have been using it at work. It's sweet and floral yet...not. It's fairly complex and not too strong. I'm unhappy that it is an anti-bacterial product, however. I despise the whole anti-bacterial product craze--are people kidding themselves? We are surrounded by (and full of) bacteria! We need them to function! Er...back to the scent. It's wonderful. It looks like there's a full line of products with that scent...some of that stuff can't be anti-bacterial, right? Too bad there's no Bath & Body Works here. I'd actually pick something up.
