Via wednesday_10_00, I've learned that the illustrator for the Flesh & Blood series by Matsuoka Natsuki has been changed from Yukifuna Kaoru to some artist named Aya. The next cd drama (coming out in December) and the next book (coming out sometime soon after) will feature the new artist. Talk about a crappy choice: get delayed books and no inside illustrations or NOT YUKIFUNA ART.

Is the change of artist perhaps connected to the fact there were no inside illustrations in the last book? I haven't read anything about it but was curious if the lack of black and white pretty was a publisher choice or was the illustrator not up to deadlines. Is there no illustrations in the next novel installment as well?

Still seriously sad though since Yukifune Kaoru is definitely one of my favorite illustrator out there...

I'm pretty sure it is. The books have been regularly delayed by weeks or months (which I have long suspected was because of Yukifuna), and this last one was actually the second book to not have any illustrations (even the cover is actually an old picture); I think Chara decided they needed to bite the bullet and find someone else or not have any illustrations at all. But nobody seems to know what's going on, though there are a lot of rumors flying around (that she's sick, or disappeared entirely).

I came across a fansite that tracks Yukifuna's work. Looks like a bunch of scheduled books she was supposed to illustrate has had a change in the illustrator. She hasn't been particularly active this year...Maybe something has happened to her. Which I really can't accept until she finishes Voice or Noise and has them have mad uninhibited sex.

I was looking at a fansite yesterday, too...the fangirls crying and saying they'd rather have no pictures than a new illustrator made me feel kind of bad for Aya. It's just an awful situation all around, honestly. :/

Voice or Noise is Enjin Yamimaru. :) So it's still running (as far as I know, anyway), just slow (so sloooowwww).

I'm so bummed about the illustrator change. The small pic of the CD cover just feels wrong. *sighs*
