I really loved this episode. Perhaps it was just the long wait to see Takano and Ritsu again, perhaps it was just that the episode was that awesome, I'm not sure why. XD; I particularly thought there were tons of great great Takano shots, like the one above.
I liked how they animated the opening of the chapter. The silence that made me think something was wrong with the file, the out-of-focus shot of the door combined with sounds finally coming through...And Ritsu jumping up and panicking...And running straight into the very upbeat opening sequence.
The meeting to determine how many volumes to print was hilarious! Ritsu walking from the meeting thinking that if just sitting in a meeting is so awful, how will it be when it's his manga on the line? *pats Ritsu on the head*
I had a hard time remembering why I took this screencap (other than that Ritsu looks adorably unhappy). It's Ritsu thinking how it sucks being his father's son when he's talking to Hasegawa. It really does suck for Ritsu since he's not sooo awesome that no one can deny that he has real abilities and he isn't so full of himself or uncaring about what others think that he can brush aside any "advantages" his position can give him.
Personally, I think his dad did not do him any favors giving him big-name authors to work with from the get-go. Talk about breeding resentment in the rest of the staff!
Ritsu defends Takano against Hasegawa!! ♥ That's right, if you do what Takano says it always works out. At work, at least.
I just love this shot. Also, Takano and Ritsu verbally sparring at work amuses me to no end.
Watching Hasegawa animated, it made him seem....skeevy? I didn't get that feeling from the manga, but in the anime I wanted him to stay away from Ritsu. Maybe he reminded me of the manga artist Ijuuin from Junjou Romantica, who really does send off skeevy vibes?
What I think Takano is thinking here: How do I prevent Onodera from transferring from my department and out of my
Takano gives Ritsu more work! What a cute pic! Reminds me of that extra drawing between chapters from the first manga volume where Takano divvies up the work and Ritsu's stack is considerably larger than the others.
The entire library scene was made of squee.
Ritsu thinking how he loves the silence of the residential library at night. I love the sentiment as I have loved libraries as well, but the contrast between this and the next part is pretty damned hilarious.
So cute!
So hilarious!
I really like this expression on Risu as he thinks how they have noticed the same thing about the library. Yes, Ritsu, you are both book dorks.
Run away Ritsu! I love how he can't deal when Takano doesn't say anything to his "joke" that Takano must be jealous of Hasegawa.
Once again, so cute!
This shot made me think...How can Takano end up in that position if he had rushed down the stairs to save Ritsu? I suppose you can't have a romantic scene otherwise, but still.
Ritsu honestly responding, without shame or self-consciousness! He needs to do this more.
I love this wordless embrace more than the making out later. I think it speaks to Takano's feelings better.
Ah, Takano being all serious and asking all those questions. These are the times when I think, "ooh, nice voice actor voice is nice." I didn't notice it when I watched it the first time, but they changed the "hatsu ecchi" (first time sex) from the manga into first time "sleeping together."
This looked a bit awkward?
Ritsu falls again! But Takano doesn't save him! I was impressed that Ritsu was able to have the presense of mind to grab his food as well as his bag when he slapped Takano and ran away, though.
Go kakkoii Takano!
Despite my dislike for Yokozawa, I thought this shot was pretty nice. But ugh...I hate how he constantly attacks Ritsu. Is he blind? It's pretty obvious Takano is the one initiating the non-work stuff. Yes, the living next door thing is fishy, but seriously. I also remembered the on the cover manga for volume 5 about how the neighborhood cats swarm around Yokozawa. I felt conflicted about it. Surely the cats would have better taste?
I don't understand how they will end the anime satisfactorily with one more episode. I looked at the next chapter in the manga and it doesn't jump out at me as particularly suited to end the series.

Date: 2011-06-18 08:10 pm (UTC)I am really hoping there's going to be a second season, because (other than the Chiaki episodes), I've loved this one SO MUCH, and, as you said, this doesn't seem like a great place to leave off.

Date: 2011-06-18 10:08 pm (UTC)There are so many things you said here that I completely agree with. XD So I won't comment on those one by one or my comment with be as long as your post XD
But yes, like I told you before, I was wondering how that stairs scene will turn out in the anime. I was really worried it will disappoint me, but it came out much more impressive than I expected. ♥ So happy about that. That was one of my favorites in the manga too!
It really was a long wait before the next episode, especially for me who skipped the other couples. But what can I say... It was so. damn. worth the wait ♥♥♥
But about the next episode... I am also really curious which part they will cut it off at. I don't see anything in the latter half of this chapter that's a good place to end the series. O_o
I really hope for a second season too, especially since the animators have proven that they can do a good job like in this episode XD

Date: 2011-06-19 10:22 pm (UTC)The stairs scene was so great! I haven't heard the CD drama, actually. Since you love it so much, I want to listen to it now.

Date: 2011-06-20 03:47 am (UTC)Actually, I started with Sekaiichi Hatsukoi drama CDs way before I found out it was based on a manga XD Even back then I was already really impressed with the cast, so when the anime was announced it felt like a dream come true.
But personally, I think the drama CDs are better :D So I hope you won't be disappointed when you listen to it.

Date: 2011-06-19 02:30 am (UTC)It seems that SiH is pretty well liked.
As far as the "ending the series" comment, isn't it COMPLETELY possible [and very likely] that this will just be the end of the first season and we can expect a second season to follow?
Like you said, the next part doesn't really seem like a good "ending" place and [I am sure this goes without saying...] there are still MANNNYYYY loose ends to be tied up.
I personally think it would be silly of the production staff to not make a second season. [at least] *crosses fingers*
But that is just my two cents...
