INITIAL D!!!....and manga...

Finally, finally saw episodes 9 and 10...they were sitting on my hard drive for so long...I connected my computer to the TV and stereo, closed all the curtains and turned off the lights, cranked up the sound and...
I was disoriented because episode 9 picked up almost right after episode 8, and I was used to the set of two episodes being a nice package...I have to admit, Keisuke amuses me to no end. He's so awkward...he's so gruff saying such mean things to the poor girl...I rather like Kyoko. I am even amused by how she calls Keisuke "darling" (well, more like da--rin since it's in Japanese) in her mind. It's sad to see her beaten down first by Keisuke himself and then by a "concerned" friend. But I do like how Keisuke is so single-minded in his pursuit of greater driving technique, especially since Takumi is improving in leaps and bounds in his freak of nature genius kind of way. I don't know if I want Keisuke to get a girlfriend, because I like my Initial D boys single in that geeky kind of way...well, except maybe Ryosuke, but only because he's the man and can handle juggle everything. ^_^ I remember in one scene in the van on the way to Saitama, Ryosuke mentions that this race will be the toughest one yet for Takumi...I thought I would so not want him as an enemy, he's just too disgustingly smart and perceptive. But I still like him, because he totally doesn't gloat. He doesn't care about such things.
On the other hand, there's that guy with glasses from Saitama. I can't remember his name and I don't care, because he annoys the crap out of me. I admire his drive to win against Project D, but his way of talking about winning against them in that absolutely confident and smug way just irritates the crap out of me. I know, all the racers are like that, but he just rubs me the wrong way. I now vaguely recall that he irritated me in the manga as well, but I think it's worse in the anime because he has a gloating voice now...I am SOOO glad I know that Takumi wins.
I totally don't remember how the race with the light red car (I don't know how to spell the car name...it sounds like cappuccino in Japanese but that can't be it...) goes. I do sort of remember that it was in the driving rain, but that's about it. And that he wins. Other than that, it's a complete blank. Maybe it's a good thing I have no idea where my Initial D manga is, because I'd want to break them out and find out. But this way I can wait another month or so for the next stage and find out watching the anime. :D
I want to see glasses guy (he reminds me of Inui in the worst kind of way...even the pushing up the rectangular glasses that glint...*shudder*...) face defeat. I want him to realize his "ultimate weapon" was only a tool to make Takumi even better!!! Bwahahahahahaha!
*pauses* Wow, that was mostly pure ranting...Not much coherence...hehe...^_^;;
In other news, I didn't realize Kirai Kiraimo was being scanlated (by Countless Time). I really like this one volume manga, because I love the art (Tateno Makoto!) and the story is just plain cute. ^_^ The seme and uke are so cliched, but that doesn't stop me from liking them. A lot.

Date: 2005-01-08 09:07 pm (UTC)I like Kyoko too. She's a spazz. XD I always got the impression that after her race with Keisuke her FD was going to lay tiger-striped scale-model FD babies.

Date: 2005-01-09 10:43 pm (UTC)It's so unfair they take so long to release the chapters of the agsty mangas, like this one, Time Lag and Yume no Kodomo *sigh* Even if I buy the book, I can only look at the pages, and it's so frustrating ~__~ I got my copy of Rin 3 this past week and I'm dying to know what they are saying... Hell, I must learn Japanese somehow ~__~
Btw, I watched the DVD version of the AnK OVAs yesterday and made a lot o screencaps *blushes* I just couldn't resist the temptation, lol! Check out my blog.

Date: 2005-01-09 11:42 pm (UTC)Wow, you weren't kidding about the "lots of screencaps." I also liked your MIrage of Blaze screencaps. Very nice choices. ^_^
I didn't really realize that Boku no Koe is a Nitta Youka manga until I saw your post of that scanlation page...I saw it mentioned in people's LJs this week but I never made the connection...^_^;
The viewfinder manga page you posted was very pretty...that Takaba pose with the gun is very, very nice...

Would you like to read Boku No Koe? I'll send you the chapters. Just one volume.
And... do you like Ayano Yamane's art? Have you read Viewfinder? Shi-Ran released up to chapter 5 and Nakama released two more chapters. And there are two oneshots scanlated by other groups.
The series is still running in Be Boy Gold Magazine and I have all the raws (there are 3, called Naked Truth). I can send you the files, if you want to read them. I mean, the Nakama ones, the oneshots and the raws, because there's http download for those released by Shi-Ran.
And there's this Ayano Yamane community: http://www.livejournal.com/community/yamane_ayano/
Someone has just posted a translation for Naked Truth 3 and I also got the raw from there.

Date: 2005-01-10 02:03 am (UTC)I do like Ayano Yamane's art. I love Ikoku Irokoi Romantan, and I have the first chapter of Viewfinder. I didn't know why I don't have the others, and when I checked their website the other chapters aren't up. :P I'd love to read the other chapters, having seen some of the later chapters posted on yaoi daily. ^_^
I'll check out the community. Thanks!

Date: 2005-01-09 02:36 am (UTC)I'm torn between having the guys hook up or staying single because I love the girls in this series.
The whole Cappuccino race does bad things to my heart so I'm looking forward to the next eps and dreading it at the same time...
And hey, I'm impressed at how coherently you've been ranting. XD

Date: 2005-01-09 10:36 am (UTC)Nobuhiko the evil Inui clone? A tad lacking in the
crackcharm department, it seems. XDHe does do a remarkable job developing the relationships which is why it gets really frustrating when it's inevitably thwarted. Kinda makes me wonder if sensei got ditched a lot when he was younger. ^_^;;

Date: 2005-01-09 06:46 pm (UTC)Not so much an Inui clone--more like he has all the qualities of Inui I don't like and none of the good...
Ha, yes, he's bitter so he won't let his characters have what he doesn't!
