While I was listening to the last track of the HaruDaki Winter Cicada drama CD to see if the summary
mirichan had was correct, I ended up doing a really quick translation of it. I think it's mostly right, but...he he...it was really quick...yeah, I'm nuts...
"It's hot! It's hot hot hot, Iwaki-san!"
"Be quiet! It'll feel even hotter."
"But it's hot! Is this really in the city? I can't believe there's such a thick forest here."
"Here it is! This is it. This is Utsusemi Temple. Let's go, Kato."
"Hey, wait!"
"So this is where Akizuki and Kusaka committed suicide?"
"Yeah. Their gravestones look like they are snuggling."
"Hey, what happened?"
"What is it?"
"My left leg!"
"Does it hurt? Why, all of a sudden?"
"What has happened?"
"It's a bit...eerie inside the temple, isn't it?"
"I'm sorry."
"Not at all. And how is the pain in your leg?"
"For some reason, the pain went away the moment you spoke to me."
"Really. Well, please have some tea. Tea when it's hot--the refreshing feeling afterwards is summer in Japan."
"You think so? I feel the happiness of summer when I'm under the covers in an air conditioned room."
"Kato"
"Oh, this time you were serious."
"And you two are actors?"
"Yes, The novel Winter Cicada that depicts the blighted love between Akizuki Keiichiro and Kusaka Touma will be made into a movie. And we came to their graves for our roles."
"And I will play Kusaka Touma. Iwaki-san will play Akizuki Keiichirou."
"Is that so? This temple is where the house Akizuki-sama was hidden. The principal Kusaka residence was...see...an apartment house has been built there, as you can see."
"Really? It's pretty far. It was a really big garden, wasn't it?"
"I am in fact a descendant of Major Aizawa."
"Err..."
"Major Aizawa had regretted that he had torn the two apart his whole life. And so he erected this temple, and in every generation the second son of the Aizawa family enters the priesthood and holds services at this temple."
"Is that so?"
"It is most welcome that the world has come to understand and sympathize with Akizuki-sama and Kusaka-sama who had been forced into a secret relationship, but I feel a little heavyhearted when I think it will become a movie and young people will visit here, mistaking it for a sightseeing spot."
"Yeah, there are people like that."
"Recently there were fools who were taking pictures pretending to cut their bellies in front of the graves. I yelled at them. I want them to sleep in peace."
"That is terrible. Um, when the movie debuts we will tell the fans so that that kind of thing doesn't happen. Right, Kato?"
"Yeah."
"Akizuki-san might be against me playing him. That was why my left leg hurt..."
"Isn't it the opposite? Akizuki-sama might have given you support so that you can play the role."
"Yeah, Iwaki-san, that must be it."
"That might be true."
"Then I wonder if Kusaka-san will give me some kind of support...what do you think, Iwaki-san?"
"That's true...oh...Kusaka-san was a genius at languages, so he'll grant you ability to speak English. Do your best in the English scenes."
"Are you serious!?"
I'm so glad they put this track in. It's a nice tie-in with Iwaki and Kato, and it lifts the heart after the tragic end of Kusaka and Akizuki...

I screened the summary.

Date: 2005-01-31 04:42 am (UTC)I cringed when you hear Iwaki bonking (?) Kato on the head early on (the part where he whined about being under covers and with the AC on ^___^).
I'm ready to post at the Y_D comm first... then I'll post at my LJ with more goodies (someone from Y_D sent me the raw of that extra chapter ^__^).

Date: 2005-01-31 04:45 am (UTC)Oh...you did manage to get the raw. Awesome. :D
