attempt #1 at the okiayu pile...

Am finally checking out the songs I've downloaded from
seiyuu...some of the latest posts are PoT songs, which I thankfully have. ^_^ I'm just going to free write my reactions as I listen to them because otherwise I won't be motivated to listen to them all...
If you like a Johnny's light pop group of guys singing type of thing, Haato wa Koukiatsu from EMU is right up your alley. The El Hazard song was...bad...go here for those.
In another post, half of the offerings weren't very memorable. I rather liked Kodou from DN Angel. Unfortunately, Okiayu really sings too lightly in comparison to the gothic, heavy background instrumentals. Stardust is a lovely ballad...I wish Okiayu put more feeling into his singing of it, though. He has more feeling in the pretty Taiyou ga Ippai. Rain needs special mention for the very eighties feel of the song. My god. Not a bad song, just dated. ^_^; Sweet Pain is a better song that is also a bit dated. I'm not sure I can get over the dated-ness of it, for all that it is a nice slow song. Sore de ii yo is a pretty ballad, but once again, I am not quite happy with the way Okiayu sings (especially the chorus). Lovely melody, though. Hm, I think my favorite song from this batch is Melody-Go-Round...it is a nice slow yet rock song...either that or Taiyou ga Ippai....Yeah, I like the ballads. :D
...Okay, I'm tired of listening to each and every one of these. *sigh* I'll have to continue at another time. I have to say that, overall, EMU has very nice songs, but they don't sparkle for me...I guess I'm spoiled by the recent Tezuka album. ^_^
Speaking of PoT, the download for 142 finished and I got to to be amused by Arai attempting to act like Tezuka...and then getting pounded by snarky American kid...Arai needs to learn when to give up, and his fellow second years need to learn to STOP him before gets himself killed...Also found torrents for 143-146 but they are downloading at such pathetic rates it depresses me. When will I get to see them? I refuse to skip to 147 like my friend did!! That is just too many episodes for me to skip!! This is driving me batty. I guess I should have spent some time filling in the missing episodes before I go on a marathon.
The only good thing resulting from my frustration is that I'm getting reaquainted with my piles of PoT doujinshi...damn, I have some good ones...

Date: 2005-02-14 09:05 am (UTC)How slowly is your download going? I have all the eps up to 152 and then from 164 onwards so I might be able to upload the ones you're missing. The Senbatsu Arc was one of the most entertaining arcs in the anime and if only all the fillers were like that (Atobe never ceases to amuse me XD). I can't find working torrents for raws of 153-163 so I'll probably resort to the Chinese fansubs since the Senbatsu arc ends somewhere in that gap.

Date: 2005-02-15 07:14 am (UTC)I have crappy Chinese subs of 143-146...no raws. >_< I do, however, have eps 153-161 raw, which you seem to be missing. Want to trade? I need 143-146 (without evil bad subs and odd aspect ratio) and 164-165 and 168-169...
Of course, between the two of us we are still out 162 and 163. :P

Date: 2005-02-15 09:25 am (UTC)I can upload 164-165/168-169 and I'd love to get 153-161 if you don't mind. *_*
I actually found the raw for 162 via a Chinese bittorrent site but it's been sitting at 99.4% for the past two days...It's a Golden Pair-centric filler though so I don't think I'll miss much skipping it. From what I gather, 163 is Inui-Kaidou-centric.

Date: 2005-02-17 04:44 am (UTC)And one at a time is fine because I just realised my downloading bandwidth has been capped so it's back to a slow crawl. *sigh*
I've uploaded 164 (http://s22.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0JSC59SHX5GP80ID6AJ2QOWD2S) and 165 (http://s34.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=33BMNYW6CJEMM0XG22QLAVIY5). I had to break down 168-169 into 3 parts with Winrar because YSI kept dying on the single file:
Part 1 (http://s27.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1J467LRPRJYKT2JT8OTEDIAFKI)
Part 2 (http://s23.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=127H36T7TR9HL2R9D394OI23KR)
Part 3 (http://s28.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=13SXO3N7ORIRJ3974Z9T46OIXR)
Let me know if you have any trouble with them and I'll try something else.

Date: 2005-02-18 08:47 am (UTC)I tried uploading 168-169 about five times on two different browsers but it kept dying halfway through so I gave up.

Date: 2005-02-19 01:36 pm (UTC)Downloads are going as fast as molasses but they're going. YSI is so slow I find it's a good excuse to go take a nap while uploading huge files.
owari!

Date: 2005-02-26 06:26 pm (UTC)If you don't mind waiting and there's no one else who can send it to you I'll try sending the ep directly (through IRC or whatever's convenient), but it'll have to wait until my bandwidth resets next weekend because of the speed cap. :/
