some bitching and some ranting

Before I get to the bitching,
teletha pointed me to one of her favorite Takamiya x Izumi fics, Lives Living Strange, which is deliciously smutty and funny!
I found out that when yesasia flaked out on me and said they didn't have a brand new novel in stock and their distributors couldn't find any they didn't actually credit me the money back....they gave me store credit. WTF? I used paypal that time, but can't they just credit my paypal account? ARG. in any case, I used that stupid store credit and the $5 coupon I got from the last order to put in my very last order with them. I ordered the sequel to two wonderful novels I read recently, Soshite Koi ga Hajimaru (I didn't know a manga was out for it!! And mochi mochi, the scanlator of the manga, is apparently translating the novel! I hope they do a good job because I really like this one!) and Kao no nai otoko. Those were my main reasons for the order, but I ended up ordering Loveless volume 5 (I don't own volumes 2 - 4! Why am I ordering volume 5??), Sex Pistols volume 2 and 3 (1 was not in stock), and another novel by the author of Soshite Koi ga Hajimaru. ^_^; Now I feel like I have to do an amazon japan order for the rest of Loveless and Sex Pistols...
Speaking of amazon japan, it just ticks me off that they don't carry Tousuisha stuff! No G-Defend, no Komatta toki ni wa hoshi ni kike, nothing!! Does amazon japan have something against Tousuisha? I'm so behind on all the series I follow from that publisher. ;_;
I've been trying to ignore the fact that PoT the anime is ending this month, but...GAH!!!
I realized today that this web seminar that someone in our office has to participate in is at an ungodly hour...it starts at 10 a.m. Central Time. Doesn't sound that bad right? Not unless you realize that we are FOUR hours behind, so whoever participates has to be in the office at SIX in the morning!! Why didn't they set the stupid seminar in the early afternoon instead? Even the West Coast people must not be too happy about having a seminar start right at eight. The only slightly good thing is that it's not Daylight Saving Time right now, because then we'd be FIVE hours behind and that'd really really suck. I hope I'm not the lucky person in our office that gets to participate...
I discovered that Clorox, especially spray Clorox, is your friend in the worst kind of way. >_< Got kind of messed up on the fumes (brilliant me, don't open the windows when using the stuff...), too. Continuing on with the unmentionable, I relearned that food gone bad causes me to retch. Lucky me!
And last but not least, I think I'm relapsing. I really don't want it again..it was a nightmare to shake off, but with a really sick person in the house it's hard to get away from the germs. *sigh* I don't wanna be sick again...

Date: 2005-03-21 07:29 pm (UTC)I like Sex Pistols a lot. Do you need the scanlation or something? I also have the raws for volume 2 and 3.

Date: 2005-03-27 08:52 am (UTC)I have the scanlations of volume 1 and raws of volume 2 and 3. What I'd love to read is the stuff that would be in volume 4. *sighs* What happens between Kunimasa and Norio??

Date: 2005-03-22 07:53 am (UTC)DOOOO IIITTT. Then I won't be all alone in my obsession. ;_;
(Speaking of #5, why did my local Kino have to switch to sea shipment for new stuff? Arrghh)
Do you have any local Japanese bookstores (like Kino) that take special orders? As long as there's an ISBN and it's still in print I find they can usually get in almost anything.
That bug sounds really nasty. Take lots of vitamin C? :/ Good thing the long weekend is coming up...

Date: 2005-03-27 08:30 am (UTC)I have a local Japanese...er...I guess bookstore, but I don't trust the speed of their special orders. They are awesome when it comes to music, but I've had some not so great experiences with books (mostly to do with the length of time it takes to get something in). I stick with amazon japan because they are fast and reliable.

Date: 2005-03-29 11:45 am (UTC)patheticmysterious addiction to this series! XDWell, there is one comm out there but I tend to avoid comms like the plague. I have lots more fun discussing series with a few friends as opposed to a (virtual) room full of strangers; plus I've noticed my attitude towards Loveless seems to vastly differ from many other fans'. :P
Oh, that's too bad. I don't know how I could cope without Kino's efficient and reliable ordering service. Being a regular customer is even better because the staff go above and beyond to get me what I'm after. *wallet cries*

Date: 2005-04-03 07:11 am (UTC)I join comms not for the discussion (I'm like you, discussions in a room of strangers not my thing) but for the leeching...yeah, I'm so bad. ^_^;
Amazon Japan should reward me with something. I spend an ungodly amount of money there.

Date: 2005-04-08 11:11 am (UTC)I'm afraid my tolerance for the fangirl hordes is so low I can't even join to leech. So I do my leeching in other places. ^_^;
Amazon Japan should have some kind of award system in place since most other places do. I try not to think too hard about the thousands of dollars I've sunk into Kino.

Date: 2005-04-16 09:24 am (UTC)I find fangirl hordes amusing if I take an observer's view and they don't get nasty. Like the Loveless comm is quite cute, I think.
I don't mind not having an award system (though that would be absolutely awesome) because they are fast and not too expensive and have a good selection.

Date: 2005-04-16 10:09 am (UTC)I poked my head in the Loveless comm out of curiousity and soon realised the sheer number of posts (most of which are intros) would drive me batty within a week. My attention span has only grown shorter as time goes by. ^_^;
I rely on Amazon Japan to hunt down ISBNs for the stuff I order through Kino so it's a great reference. I'm a bit surprised there's no reward system, but perhaps it's for the best to prevent you from spending even more?

Date: 2005-04-16 05:02 pm (UTC)I have gotten used to skimming over the many many posts from all the other comms that flood my flist (YD, seiyuu) to find the ones I want to check out.
I don't need no awards program to make me buy more. My own greed pushes me into buying more just fine.
