japanese fanfic babbling

Um, as the subject indicates, I go off about some of the Japanese fanfics I've been (re)reading this past week when I had no energy and spent time with the passive pastime of reading...


While I was doing my usual rounds of Japanese fanfic sites, I went over to 蜜月愛人, a TezuRyo site I rather like but doesn't update that often. I found, to my delight, that she had updated with a fic recently...a very interesting fic called こころのかけら where the only characters are Tezuka and Sakuno (yes, Sakuno). She is damn irritating, but she worked very well as a foil to Tezuka and I do like this fic a lot.

I explored the site a little further and found an entry for the 30 themes for romanticist, 世界は踊る. I really like the lines:

部員が全員帰宅したことを確認してから、リョーマは手塚から受け取った鍵で部室のドアを施錠すると、開けたままにしていた横の窓に足をかけて室内へと滑り込む。

そしてその軽い体を手塚は腕の中に受け止めるのだった。

The whole story made me laugh because of the way they are so eager yet frustrated. XD

At a Hikago fanfic site, 集まいのひろば!, I came across another line that tickled me in the fic 好・き・好・きSWEET KISS!:

もう無理やり襲いかかったりは、ぜったい・・・出来るだけ・・・なるべく・・・しないように努力する。

The Hikaru in this AU series is just adorable, and that line just totally showcases what makes him so damn cute!

In the TezuRyo fic 進化論 at Petit Blue, I was really struck by the scene:

大きな瞳が、真っ直ぐに自分を見つめている。
「今度試合するときは、俺から言う。だから・・・あんたから持ちかけられる試合は受けないから」
　瞬きをするのを忘れるほど、見つめつづける。
手塚はリョーマの目の中に自分の姿が写っているのが見えた。

その時、
その姿が永遠に焼きついてしまえばいいと思った。

I really like these kinds of moments. Makes me sigh in contentment. :D

I've also been rereading the request and gift fics at ルビィに恋したアメジスト and just died reading the end of とーく, a rather lame TezuRyo <-- 36 fic:

紅い顔をしているリョーマの手から携帯電話をそっと奪って、手塚から来たというメールを見ると、ぶっと菊丸は噴出し、画面を不二に見せ付けた。そこに表示された一言、

『無事か？』

それを見るや不二も噴きだし、
２人が腹を抱えて笑い出すのでリョーマはムッと顔をしかめた。

「すっ・・・すっげっ　・・・究極っ・・・苦しっ・・・」
「あはっ・・・手塚からっ・・・メール来るようになったん、だねっ・・」
「ってゆーかおチビの、『ス』だけの返信もどーーよ！！？一文字？一文字なのっ？！」
「・・・悪いスか。」
「悪くねぇけどさぁっ・・・ぅひーっ・・・駄目、だめ、笑うっ」

I mean, isn't it so like Tezuka and Ryoma?? Especially Ryoma's 「ス」 response. One stinkin' character. They just don't waste words (or typing). XD The extra part was hilarious, too. Go Tezuka! Devour the poor boy! ^_^ But I really liked this exchange:

「・・・部長・・・」
「ん？　・・・どうした。」
「・・・楽しいんスか？」
「割とな。」
「・・・触るの、好きなの？」

ぽそりと尋ねると、リョーマの肩に顔を埋めて答えた。
『そうらしい』と。
らしい、じゃなくて、そうだろ　と思ったけれど、手塚の声が肩口に触れ、くすぐったくてリョーマは身を弾いた。

For some reason I really think it's very characteristic of Tezuka to say things like 「そうらしい」 when it comes to things of the heart.


I've had a wonderful morning being refreshed and awake and fangirling...but I guess it's time for me to get going. *sighs* I still need to respond to old comments, too.

*adds more fic to the reading list* The long weekend just wasn't long enough. *sigh*

Tezuka and Sakuno is a very strange combination. Will have to see how the writer handles it.

I loved the scene you've quoted from 進化論. Moments like that make me sparkle madly. *_*

*laughs* I just reread "Talk" again and it's still as hilarious as ever. The whole "confirming your safety" thing Tezuka and Ryouma had going on at the end cracks me up so bad. Those one word (or single syllables in Ryouma's case XD) conversations are them all over. And it's so very Tezuka in not articulating those sorts of things the way normal people would. XD XD

I loved this little exchange between the 36 duo:

「何すんだよ不二！」
「退治。」
「お前なぁ、人を悪い虫みたいに・・・」
「何か違うかい？」

And when Fuji asks Ryouma why he doesn't want them messaging him anymore:

「・・・スクロールしても、スクロールしても、不二先輩不二先輩菊丸先輩不二先輩不二先輩菊丸先輩菊丸先輩菊丸先輩不二せんぱ・・」
「・・・越前、もういいから。」
「―みたいなメールフォルダを、見てんのがちょっとウツってゆーか・・・」
「・・・結構失礼なこと言うね。」

And Fuji's comment when Tezuka blasted in:

「助けに飛んで来たよ、君のスーパーヒーロー。」

Bwahahaha!!!

Tezuka's internal dialogue is just plain hilarious the whole way through. The world as seen through "Tezuka Vision". XD

And bonus smut is always a good thing, but considering how many times they end up in Tezuka's room I can only hope his house has very thick walls. XD;;;

Lastly, I loved this little exchange between Ryouma and Nanako:

「今朝方 帰ってきたばかりですものね。―目が少し赤いわ。昨夜は、お友達の家で一晩中 遊んでたのね。」
「・・・・・・」
「中学生の男の子同士って、―ふふ、どんなお話をするのかしら？昨夜は何をして遊んだの？」
「・・・・・・ぇ・・・」
「女の子みたいにお喋りするものなのかしら。それともゲームばかり？」
「・・・・・・ぁ・・・」

Nanako is obviously a yaoi fangirl. *cackles*

Wow, another old comment rediscovered! In any case, Fuji is just brilliant in とーく. And you can just hear him say those lines, too. Even the superhero comment. XD

I love the part you quoted with Ryoma going on about how his phone is full of his sempai's names and he was sick of seeing them. Oh, Ryoma, you need to learn something called "tact."

You know Nanako roots for her cousin's "straying from the path," as any good girl would. ^_^

The dialogue is wonderful, it really is her greatest strength. Her Fuji makes me die with lines like that; AniPuri should've hired her to write the script for some of the crack episodes. XD

Heh, what wonders we'd see if she had written a script or two...

Ryoma is not as bad as his dad. That's good enough for me.

Nanako is the Mary Sue of all us fangirls. XD

It's so easy to lose track of these LJ comments; I don't know how some people with loads of them manage to reply to everything in a timely fashion.

Everything about Ryouma looks so much more positive compared to his dad. ;>
