random fangirling

The first Loveless drama CD was posted in
raburesu. I only listened to the cast comment track and laughed. Konishi is sooo not like Soubi. MinaJun is MinaJun, as usual. XD Omake: Pretty shitajiki pic!!
Someone has started posting Kawaige (Maybe I'm Your Steppin' Stone), the semi-sequel to Namaiki (I'm Not Your Steppin' Stone) at
yaoi_daily. I wish it was a real sequel and followed the adventures of the main charas from the first manga, because I love them. :P
Spiral scanlations...because it kicks much ass. The manga, not the scanlation. No clue if the scanlation is any good.
Damn funny Loveless/Tenipuri crossover manga, found via
may_neuma's journal...
First set of four (BGM: Tonde! Mawatte! Mata Raishuu!):
Panel #1:
Tezuka: "If Echizen had ears?"
Panel #2: meowing background sounds
Panel #3: disturbing close up of pervert Tezuka with the character which I will say means turned on in this case
Panel #4:
Tezuka: "I am the Sacrifice!"
Inui: I see
Ryoma: "...I'm the Fighter?"
Fuji: "So he's Soubi?"
Second set of four (BGM: Ryoma Ippai version):
Panel #1:
Ryoma: "If buchou had ears?"
Panel #2: meowing background sounds
Panel #3:
Ryoma (whisper): "Eww..."
Panel #4:
Ryoma: "I'll make them fall off!"
Tezuka: "He just said eww..."
Inui: "You just imagined it"
Speaking of Ryoma (though it really has nothing to do with him or PoT at all), I discovered a great original fanart site, calamaio. Creepy yet amazingly detailed and oddly colored artwork. The composition of the pics is fascinating...feels like you're peeking into a scene that you shouldn't be. XD There's also a section called "Nuova" in the Gallary (yes, GallAry) section featuring a young boy that calls to mind a creepy Ryoma. With wings. At least, that was my friend's comment and I have to agree. ^_^
Read yet another great Viewfinder fic, Distraction by
rusalkaz. It's a great characterization of Asami and I love the hints of smut to come.
I meant to do a short post, but I guess I had a bunch of stuff piled up that I wanted to fangirl over. This is unproofed (especially the five minute translation of the manga) because I want to get back to translating (becuase it is eating my brain...).
I still have a bunch of anime I wantneedshould watch, but...my brain is currently being eaten. :P

Date: 2005-04-27 08:13 am (UTC)Re: Spiral scanlations. If the group that's doing it is the same Inane that does Naruto, they're rather infamous for their "helpful" editing and deliberate mistranslation of certain parts of the Naruto manga (namely the big Naruto-Sasuke fight), in order to remove any hint of m/m subtext. *TWITCH*
Thanks for pointing to the TeniPuri/Loveless crossover. Attack of the muttsuri sukebe buchou! I was wondering how long it'd take the Jfans to do that. XD
The original fanart(?) site has some remarkable stuff. I think it's the abstract style and doll-like quality that gives it that creepy feel (dolls and puppets creep me out). That Ryouma-with-wings looks like a demon in innocent angel guise sent to tempt someone. ^_^;
*pokes you on Sousei no Aquarion XD*

Date: 2005-04-30 08:31 am (UTC)Wow, I hope it's not the same group. I hate editing the original for purposes other than localizing (though I hate that too, I can understand it). >_<
Tezuka is way too repressed for his own good. Or for whoever ends up his significant other. Of course, it provides much amusement for the rest of us (and for Fuji and Inui, usually).
The original art site is good. Creepy and eerie, but just so obviously talented. Doesn't that boy kind of remind you of Ryoma? It's not just the looks, it's the look on the face and the posture...
Heh, maybe if I get into an anime watching mood I'll pick up a new series...

Date: 2005-05-11 10:27 am (UTC)Bleh, it's one thing for commercial companies to edit stuff to sell and make money - it sucks, but they're businesses after all - but for purported fans of a series to do such a thing, and on such trivial grounds, makes me genuinely ANGRY.
Making fun of Tezuka is one of my favourite pastimes. XD
He does - he has that bored detachment, casually arrogant attitude down pat. I love the different perspectives the artist has used, too. The style is all very goth-loli.

Date: 2005-05-22 09:07 am (UTC)Fans just take too much upon themselves. Like they are the only gatekeepers or something. Bleah.
Tezuka is just asking for any teasing he gets.
