Ah, nothing like a post for the sake of posting. I feel like I'm in withdrawal because I haven't been able to post or reply much. :P In any case, random shit follows:

I hate unexpected spoilers. Sometimes, even if I follow something closely, I need to know what happens and I want spoilers...but I want to be spoiled by choice, not by accident. I've luckily had that happen to me rarely, usually in some offhand comment by someone, but it has gotten me very upset. So while I'm not sure how I would have reacted to being spoiled for Viewfinder, I'm glad I wasn't.

And reading it...I had to laugh. It was so appropriate. Loved that Asami came to confront Feilong by himself (oh, the machismo! XD), the Takaba tug-o-war and that they actually got wounded (they're criminals, for gods sakes). The sex seemed so...gratuitous. It says something sad that I feel this way in a series like Viewfinder. I mean, hello Feilong, instantaneous and random erection, a quickie, and then now I'm done with you you can die? Of course, Feilong tries to be so cool, but he's asking Takaba how sex with Asami is while fucking him? You have issues, boy.

In any case, I was very impressed with the cool violence in the end, and am trying not to think about how long the wait is for the next part.


I love Marketplace, my source for business news. It runs at 6:30 p.m. Monday to Friday on my local NPR station, and I love their attitude even while giving informative andin depth reports. One report about the $2.6 trillion budget in Congress was prefaced by the question: "What is a trillion dollars?" The first explanation posited that it wasn't real, like a unicorn. A unicorn?? It made me laugh even as I stewed during my traffic-filled drive home that day. ^_^

I am still behind on my anime watching. In fact, I am more behind because more has come out while I've been not watching. *sigh*

I'm like you. I like spoilers, but only when I want them. Poor girl who gave away the spoilers though, I feel sorry for her. She didn't have to even admit she was the one who said it (since she said it anon). I'm sure she didn't expect the fires of hell to come down upon her. XD

That chapter make me feel bad. I hate reading manga that makes me feel bad. Viewfinder does that a lot. I enjoy it, but...there is just no joy in reading it most of the time. I can deal with angst, but not this. The rape/sex was horrible. I could only look at it once. I'm going to try to look at it again since someone posted a translation. But I hate Fei so much now. :p I'm more worried about poor Takaba than Asami. He's a super seme he'll be okay. Maybe servant boi and Takaba can become friends.

Ah well, it was an exciting 10 minutes when it came out. Now to wait for the next part.

I'm so behind on anime as well. I haven't watched much from the new season at all. Or last seasons shows... XD

Well, she didn't mean to do it and was good about sharing the actual chapter.

I expect much angst and WTF-ness from VF, so most things don't phase me. I would think that we would get a bit more of what's going on in Fei's mind when we get to the Hong Kong part. I'm not sure what will happen to Takaba now...either BAD THINGS or suprisingly not so bad things (wow, talk about a vague and stupid way to put it). I'm like you, I figure Asami will be okay. He'll be REALLY REALLY mad, yes, but he'll be okay.

LJ is an evil positive-feedback loop. I keep telling myself to put the crack down step away from it, but we can see how well that works.

It has much gratuitious violence and sex, but the art is absolutely lovely and the fanfics are fabulous. In terms of story and character, I really enjoy this most recent arc especially. XD

Good luck on stepping back. I'm having too much fun to want to (yet).

*laughs* Though my fav by this author is still Irokoi Ikoku Romantan. That is a fabulous manga to own. It's damn funny, and sexy Italian seducing wild young yakuza boss is just great.
