Initial-D...live action...in Chinese??

Wow, I don't know why I haven't heard about the live action Initial-D movie. My friend sent me some links on it because her sister is a fan of the actor who plays Takumi...a Taiwanese singer/actor...In any case, an article about the filming where the directors talk about how filming swift moving cars was difficult and dangerous. Those poor 86's that have died and gone to car heaven for this movie. And another article focused on the actor who plays Takumi. Another random article.

Found the official website. Damn slow to load, but they have trailers. Very bad quality trailers. It was odd hearing Bunta talking to Takumi in Chinese...;_; What the hell does Takumi sound like? Can I ever accept a non-Miki (non-Japanese-speaking!) Takumi?

Whoa, I never mentioned it because it seemed everybody and their grandma knew the moment this clip (http://s27.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3BUOQT6V95IBO3MO0T91X0RYN1) was released.

Altogether, there'll be three different languages spoken (including Japanese) in the movie, which translates to an awful lot of text onscreen. Due to some stupid misjudgement on the part of the script writers, there will be no Keisuke. Sacrilege! >_<

They found the perfect actor for Bunta though, it's astonishing. The guy playing Takumi is far too brooding for the role IMO. I think I'm just gonna watch it for the cars. :P

I will reserve judgement until I see the damn thing (hard to forgive the no Keisuke thing, though). The car scenes look cool. Promising.

The races do look very cool so it may not be a total loss. Should be out within the next few months.
