thoughts on black cat

Looks like one "benefit" of not having a computer at home is that I have time to do other things...like read manga. Last night I read through the 12 volumes of Black Cat I bought the other day. So far, so good. I do enjoy it quite a bit. One thing that does throw me off is when Train gets all dark and serious, it reminds me of Kenshin and how he'd revert to his Battousai persona at times. The difference is that Train will kill when necessary, which I like.
I have a like-dislike relationship with Eve (my feelings aren't strong enough to call it "love-hate" :P). Initially I had no opinion of her. Then she really irritated me. Lately, I find her to be developing in an interesting fashion, and thus tolerate her. I wouldn't feel too bad if she died, though. One thing I like is how she's more similar to Train, thus at times (and usually when it really matters) he understands her better than Sven, who's led a relatively normal life. Oh, and how she feels like she's gained a little brother when Train is turned into a child. XD
I do like the other female characters that appear in the manga. Annette, Rinslet, that Japanese Tao-using chick with the attention span of a gnat (I love how she picks up that strangely cute black cat)...strong females with strong personalities. ^__^ Sapphire (or whatever her name is romanized) is a bit too cliched, so far. Maybe she'll get developed more later. At least her character design (love the forehead tattoo) and her weapon are cool, though.
As for Creed...he is delightfully amusing. His character design is just...so...so...gay. But putting that aside, so far I don't really get "slashy" vibes between Creed and Train. I can see the basis (oh so very well), but I can't help but think of Creed as a yume miru shoujo whenever he thinks of Train. "The only person I ever respected." He just sticks him up on a pedestal, and never considers Train's own wishes and thoughts. He's so delusional, it's just so cute. ^_^ As for Train, at this point I don't know what he really thinks of Creed. *shrugs* Maybe I should go read fanfics and see if they'll convert me. Are there any?
Oh wait. I know I could probably read humorous parody slash fics. I'd love to see a pathetic hetare Creed and a WTF? what is your problem you seriously need alife clue Train match up. XD
Storywise? It's pretty interesting. Creed kind of seems unstable and erratic for a villian, but then...half the villians are like that and they somehow manage. It'll be interesting to see how he handles the Chronos Numbers, especially I and II. I guess I'll have to find the rest of this series to learn what happens...
In the meantime, I might continue watching the anime...when I get my computer back. :P I think I'd like to see the fight scenes. ^__^
