My life, while not horrendously insane like some people's, is giviing me problems. Last night I completely crashed, and ended up getting too much sleep. After weeks of not enough sleep, I am "blessed" with feeling like crap for getting too much of it. >_< And here I was hoping for a mostly normal day with mostly normal brain function. Tonight I will strive to get not too much and not too little sleep. The balance is delicate and difficult to manage, it seems. *sigh*

I read a sidebar to a feature in yesterday's newpaper about a three week "Life Makeover" touted in the latest Fitness magazine. Week one is "Design a 'longevity diet.'" That sounded pretty normal. Week two was about physical activity and exercise....and what jumped at me was "Also, regular sex will reduce the risks of cancer and auto-immune disease, and slow the aging of arteries and wrinkling of skin. If sex isn't available, try social activity with friends." The "if sex isn't available" part made me chuckle...makes sex sound like something you get from the grocery store. If it's out of stock, try this substitute. *snort*

And for my happy anime/manga ranting for the day...I won my auction!!!! I will be the owner of a seven-book Hikago doujinshi set! :D And because I had a pretty high max bid, the actual winning bid seems low (yeah, it's only a cheap mind game I'm playing with myself but IT WORKS).

With people writing in their LJs about going to Japan, their enthusiasm is finally kick-starting me into wanting to plan my trip to Japan this year. For some reason I've been dragging my feet about it, and I think it's because this trip is so simple and single-minded in its purpose (manga and doujinshi) there really is no fun in planning. :P This year I'm changing my strategy. I'm sick of carrying tons of books around from the store to the hotel and then to the post office to mail...I will buy what I can only buy there, or things that can be bought much much more cheaply, in Japan this time around. Manga that I can get via mail order for a decent price I'm just going to buy beforehand. And frankly, spending upwards of $400 on SEAMAIL felt pretty nuts...

Well, my enthusiasm for going to Japan manifested into a tokyo shopping guide. I even managed to update my really pathetic site while I was at it. :D

I would appreciate any suggestions (regarding the format, the content, the grammar...whatever), as it is definitely a work in progress. I did this in a fit of madness today, looking up shops from memory, and thought about sitting on it and fixing it before posting it...but I know if I do that it would have never seen the light of day. ^_^;
