I am very, very tired right now but I decided that I must fangirl or I'll go nuts. >_< Thanks for the well wishes, good news is that my mom's pneumonia is much much better. Bad news is that she has some other bacterial infection that is keeping her in the hospital in isolation for I don't know how long (I really hate having to wear a mask and all that). In any case, I've been listening to some music in the car this week and had to rant about it. Sorry if this post is even less coherent than usual, but after nine hours at the hospital my brain is a bit fuzzy. :P In any case, enough whining, onto the ranting...

Earlier this week my friend had sent me a song from a CD he downloaded from a newsgroup by tommy heavenly 6 which totally kicked ass...I found out it's from a tribute CD for the manga Nana called Love for Nana ~Only1 Tribute~ (official site here, a site with pics of the artists and sound samples of most of the songs here)...when I saw the cover of the Black Stones version I wanted to know more about the manga, so I googled it and found a nice little review. The art style is intriguing...I've only become more curious about the manga because after getting my friend to send me the entire CD and listening to it many times during my car commutes, I just fell in love with the music and the enthusiasm for the music has transferred to the manga as well. I haven't gone to look for a scanlation yet...I hope one exists so that I can find out if I'd like it...though I suppose I could wait for the movie to come out (found that out at the official site)...In any case, the music on the CD is quite good overall (only one song I definitely don't like), but I think my favorite has to be the tommy heavenly 6 song (I adore Tomoko Kawase in all her incarnations, from The Brilliant Green to Tommy february 6 to Tommy heavenly 6...I love her mumbly low voice...a nice background article comments that february 6 "harkens back to 80's pop, ala Duran Duran, with large doses of American cheerleaders and 'Sweet Valley High'"--I know it sounds disturbing and bad, but it is actually very very addictive--while heavenly 6 is "a distortion fueled pop-rock anti-february" ^_^;), which I must share:

GIMME ALL YOUR LOVE!! by Tommy Heavenly 6

I like most of the songs so I wanted to share more...two English songs (sung in ENGLISH, not ENGRISH):

Sleepwalking by Glen Matlock and the Philistines featuring Holly Cook (from Sex Pistols)

It reminds me of some other group, but I just can't place it.

Sugar Guitar by Skye Sweetnam

This song is happy and sugary and a lot of fun. It makes me unconsciously bob my head to the beat... "Nananana~"

I want to own this CD. Very very much.

Speaking of music, I downloaded the *sniff* last opening and ending for PoT at Tsubame Gaeshi and stuck it on a CD with the Nana CD to play in the car...I liked Dream Believer from the start because I love the opening animation sequence (RYOMA!) and the Glay-like sound of the music and the vocals, but I didn't realize just how nice the ending song was until I heard it about 4 times. Love it!!

OMG I woke up this morning feeling so refreshed! A solid eight hours of sleep and it feels wonderful...I finally got around to going back through the flist backlog (I've never actually gone back 220 entries before...but a lot of it is from noisy communities like seiyuu or YD where I don't bother to read each post) and commented on some and noted some others that will require more thought before commenting. :D

On a side note, one thing that annoys the crap out of me--why do the Japanese put MSG in almost everything?? I was at the local Japanese food warehouse picking up some stuff and ended up browsing around for some instant miso soup and tsukemono, and was flabbergasted to find that almost every product had MSG in it! GAR! Found one miso soup with no MSG (out of like 20) and no tsukemono without it. *sighs*

In any case, I put together this little post because my silly rabid fangirl mind was pondering this for the last couple of days and I had the pics already scanned and uploaded in photobucket...

koi no gakuen host club I was looking at the picture on the left from the back cover of a novel as I brushed my teeth the other day (as it was sitting on the counter next to the sink) and I started wondering which do I prefer, this kind of blazer and tie school uniform or the gakuran? Which is sexier and/or more erotic? I thought about how the clothing looked when in situations like the one on the right and I'm still not sure. They both have their merits. Both, when worn correctly, look very proper so when they are mussed they look even more naughty. The gakuran has that military feel to it that gives it an additional kick...but the tie is always a nice touch as well. Useful, too, for tying up or blindfolding someone, or for just loosening it in that sexy seme way...

I ended up realizing it was too hard to decide. I like them both. >_

Um, as the subject indicates, I go off about some of the Japanese fanfics I've been (re)reading this past week when I had no energy and spent time with the passive pastime of reading...

the babbling )

I've had a wonderful morning being refreshed and awake and fangirling...but I guess it's time for me to get going. *sighs* I still need to respond to old comments, too.

YAY!!!

Really good news! My mom has been released! No more spending hours at the hospital! ^_^ I must celebrate by...sharing more Nana CD music (yes, I currently am obsessed with the thing)!!

Twinkle by Kimura Kaera

REVERSE by TETSU69

I feel like a broken record, but I must say again that this CD is worth owning.

My friend noted that Microsoft had a parent's primer to computer slang explaining l33t sp34k, finding it highly amusing...and reading the explanation was unfathomably amusing to me as well.

A newspaper column that ran earlier this week, A foreign land sends greetings, reminds me of the stories about people complimenting people from Hawaii on their English, asking if they live in grass huts, etc. I hope these kinds of things don't happen anymore, but it used to really make me wonder if they missed the part of history class where you learn all the states...

The Mirage ML has recently just exploded with meaningful posts...which make me tired just reading them, forget replying to any of them. I'm glad others are taking the time to reply. ^_^;

Speaking of overwhelmed, Seki Tomokazu week at [livejournal.com profile] seiyuu scares me. I don't love his singing enough to download it all, and I don't know what's good. GAH!
